looking to write Inkscape tutorials for learning disabilties (ADD/ADHD, ...)

Hi Friends,
From time to time, I've seen messages posted by people who say they have ADD/ADHD and need special tutorials.  I would be glad to write some, but don't know exactly what needs to be different about tutorials written for this group.  If anyone is serious about finding tutorials like this, please reply and let me know what you need.

I'm not keen to make videos, which a lot of these messages are requesting.  But I don't understand why videos are more helpful.  If a text tutorial is written in steps 1-2-3, and well illustrated, why isn't that good enough for this group?

Ok.  After a little support (via PM and elsewhere) I've decided to go ahead and write a series of tutorials for those with learning differences.  (Or at least put out an example, for comments, critiques, suggestions.)  I realized that often when people ask questions in the forum, we reply with a link to the manual.  But the manual isn't written in a way that people with learning differences can use very well.  That may well be why these people post messages in forums, in the first place!  So "rtfm" or "lmgtfy" are not the kind of responses that will be helpful for this group.

So anyway, I thought if this group of people can't really use the manual very effectively, a series of tutorials that teaches how to use Inkscape in a 1 - 2 - 3 way, should cover....well, at least all the basics.   So it's turned into potentially a major project!

So in the foreseeable future, I'll have 1 or 2 parts of the series ready to show, and ask for comments before I potentially waste alot of time doing the whole thing (in case it turns out not being very helpful).

Ok, I've got the beginnings of this series ready for comments.  An Introduction, Lesson 1 and Lesson 2.

They are SVG files, which means the user only has to open the SVG file with Inkscape.  They don't have to switch back and forth between a tutorial and Inkscape.  These aren't technically finished and ready to be used, but they are close.  Before I release final versions, I'll lock everything but the illustrations, which the user can practice with.  And I'd like to add 1 last practice step to Lesson 2 (if I can ever find the right kind of graphic). 

But anyway, questions and/or comments welcome.  Remeber that my goal is to teach 1) Inkscape novices; 2) the basics; and 3) in a very organized, step-by-step format.  There will generally be a separate lesson for each tool, although some may be logically combined (for example all the shape tools will be in 1 lesson).

Ok, so it turns out that not all systems have an equivalent font to the one I used.  So I'm providing these PNGs so those who aren't on Windows can see the font and formatting as intended.  Note that the 3rd file (select-f-s-60dpi.png) had to be exported at a smaller dpi, because the full size can't be attached (for some reason we're not entirely sure of).  But the font and formatting in the 3rd file is identical to that in the 1st 2 files.

Of course, now that I know this, I'll plan on converting text to path, in the SVG files, and hiding the actual text (for future potential edits).  But that's assuming anyone actually show interest in this series being completed.  So if anyone is interested, please post a quick msg, or use the contact form (on Contact tab) if you're not a member.  The more encouragement I get, the more likely I am to finish the series.
