Like I was thinking to make a peace sign halftone, and put it on a photo of the earth - something like that.

Not a fan of the peace -deathrune- sign, made a template with hearts here. (I bet drawing the peace sign by gradients is much easier.)

The pattern used is rather complex, took too long to create. But that's not surprising.

-256 paths are stacked upon eachother.

Here is it after action:

Made another variation of that psychedelic bunny.

This time, a kaleidoscope is added to the filter effect:
-click the thumbnail in the link-

-filter-wise it's the exact same. However it's a test for the rendering.
Chrome renders the rotating kaleidoscope right but lags with the filter. Firefox renders the filter with no slowdown but the rotation is off-center.

Other unfiltered variations of the bunny with the kaleidoscope alone are available here.

Edit: oh this kills the rendering of the page. Removing the embedding. Click the link instead and view it outside.

"In action" shot of some of the previous packs.

-This one is actually animated but it takes too much resources to render that I'm not embedding the svg for now.

with the svg source looking somewhat similar to this. (New one has more filters previously shared. However the structure is more important this time, so the less filter seemed more fitting for the svg.)

Another "in action" image reusing a metallic filter and some dithering:

Pattern rendered to a 4k wallpaper raster image.

Reminds me of dragon scales - perhaps a more greenish and rounded version would be interesting to try out :)

Will redraw the pattern with cloning=customizable tile shape.
Also thinking over the drawing's structure.
Base fill is a gradient downsampled to the tiles; using a pattern fill would have more options. Hmm as a second thought that process will fit perfectly the halftone filters.
Edit: just tested, pattern fills respond poorly with such scaling.

Then, how to add in more layers and still have an independent dropshadow in between the z-ordering.
Plus, what if some of the tiles had an actual decoration, they'd have dropshadows too?

Edit 2:
With more raster tweaking added in in gimp:

I don't know if you intended this.  But it looks just like one of those.... I guess is sort of a toy.

Just saw this one uploaded by JayNick at openclipart:

Some recent sea images:

Knowing what I wanted to achieve it didn't come out as good as I wanted. But simply cannot manage this kind of drawing so easily.
Dithering is added in to every object manually and some of the parts became simply just grainy. Even though the basics are quite simple.
Will have to catch up with it someday.

Feeling a bit rusty... time to get back to drafting right?
*looking up own blog's password*

Coming from this topic put together yet another set of chalkboard-art filters. Not so satisfied with the result, as feeling it lacking some detail and especially the very details are out of proportion, showing the turbulence noise clearly.

Edit: still not sure why deviantart doesn't let embed the images as thumbnails.
Then again, some reminder to see if this is going somewhere:

Looks great!

How large is the SVG file, before I try to download it?

Thanks.

Fyi, for others, that calculates to approx 16 mb.  It will take some time to download (and probably at least 8 gb ram).

Tried to update the wallpaper with more filters -with not much luck.

This was screen captured at 11% zoom level:

Here is the svg source:
black forest wallpaper

However exporting to the 8k size took about 7 hours for only about 5% of the image and it even showed rendering artifacts.
So... anyone with a renderfarm want to give it a try, don't hesitate.
