Title: Where are the preferences for mouse wheel scrolling ...
Post by: Sheila on September 04, 2018, 10:23:27 AM
I can't seem to find how to shut off Grow/shrink node selection: mouse wheel grow/shrink selection (spatial).
I can see how to change keyboard hotkeys but not the scrolling of the mouse wheel for node selection.

Is this possible? I use the wheel scrolling for other things but I'd rather not have it for node selecting.

I'm being driven quietly nuts by this. Thought I'd ask. Thanks.

No, this mouse action is currently not configurable - you'd need to compile your own Inkscape version to change it.

May I ask in what situations you encounter the problem? Maybe there are other ways.

Welcome to the forum!

As far as I know, you just need to make sure the mouse is not on top of a node when you scroll the wheel.  I make it a practice not to leave the mouse pointer on top of a node (or anything else, for that matter), in between steps of whatever I'm doing.  I make sure to leave the mouse pointer over free space.  That way, I don't accidentally cause problem if the mouse gets bumped or something.
