Title: F8 Not Giving Me Text

Is there a way to get the F8 key working in Inkscape if Windows 7 is interfering?  I hit F8 and get a box with "Disconnect Projector, Duplicate, Extend. . ."  Maybe a toggle?  This happens once in awhile.  I hit all kinds of combinations to get it to work but it is all hit or miss and very time consuming.  Prefer not to have to reinstall everytime.  Using .48.  If you hit F8 while anywhere outside of Inkscape, you will see the box I am getting.

Just use "t" to switch to text tool.
