Title: Keyboard or Window Focus

Hello. I am having a problem with keyboard or window focus. When I click on a layer in the layer panel or lock or hide a layer,  my keyboard focus changes to the search dialog in the layer panel. When I click on other panels the keyboard focus leaves the canvas as well.

This is a problem because when keyboard focus leaves the canvas the keyboard shortcuts do not work. I have to click on the canvas to bring focus back to it.

I would like for the keyboard focus to stay on the canvas.

I don't really use the layer search anyway.

In most dialogs, you can use Escape to bring focus back to the canvas.

That's been Inkscape's behavior as long as I've been using it.  But anyone is welcome to submit a new feature request.  Feature requests are handled with bug reports.

I can't remember if you already know how to do that or not.  (https://launchpad.net/inkscape)  But if you need help, just ask  :)
