logged in as hidden

Hi Friends,
Maybe some of you can help me with something I've been wondering about for a while.  I've noticed that some members' online status is hidden.  So when you're logged in, your name doesn't appear in the Users Logged In Today section at the bottom of the index page.

And that's Totally OK!  If I didn't want that, I would disable that feature.  But I don't mind if people are logged in hidden.  (The admin can always see though, of course.)

This is an option in Profile > Modify Profile > Account Settings > Show others my online status

Whenever I've noticed this, it's hidden from the very first time the member logs in.  Sometimes they've never even posted.  And I guess some people do go to their profile right away, when they join a forum.  But I wonder if this option is checked by default for some people....somehow.

So if you notice that you're hidden, and you didn't check that option, would you let me know?

Online Status - If a member has not chosen to hide their online status, it is displayed.

It's just apparently more popular of a feature than I realized.  I just wanted to make sure it wasn't a bug or something.
