Title: Importing fonts
Post by: PierrevR on November 19, 2017, 01:17:02 AM
Hi,
I have imported a PDF image created with Indesign an eed to change the layout of the objects.
Unfortunately the fonts used in the original do not seem to exist in Inkscape's standard font library.
Is there a way to import other fonts (actually the fonts I need are on my Windows font library...)
Rhanks

Usually, Inkscape uses the fonts provided by the operating system. There are some cases when fonts aren't found, or font styles (faces) are mingled.
-> Are you using a font management software?
-> What is the name of the font and the file type of the font that you're trying to use?

Welcome to the forum!

Inkscape does not have its own font library, and uses whatever fonts are installed on the system.  So if you have the font installed on Windows, you should have it in Inkscape.

If you have installed that font while Inkscape was already open, you'll need to close, and reopen Inkscape, to see it.

Do you use a font manager?

Geez, I hesitate for one minute, and Moini sneaks in again!

Has this been solved by any chance...  :???: I was just wondering if the original creator of the pdf did not embed the fonts so the pdf came across to you as a representation of the original font :hmm:

Yeah, we'd need more info at this point.
