Title: SOLVED - Re-Sizing Stroke Issue
Post by: flamingolady on October 02, 2017, 02:36:51 PM
ok, I'm having a 'senior moment' - can't find the setting anywhere - thought it was in Preferences - where you choose that the size of the stroke increases/decreases proportionately with the object?
specific example.   draw a (large) circle with a stroke of 15, decrease the size of the circle, the stroke remains at 15, in older versions the stroke size decreases as the circle does.

Something must have changed in .92 - it used to be proportionate.  I thought Preferences had that option, but simply cannot locate it - anyone know? Never had this issue before.
thanks

Hi.

Did you check the tool controls?

If you want the line width to transform with an object, you must toggle on this option using the  (http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/images/ICONS_PNG/status/transform-affect-stroke.png) icon that is in the Tool Controls when the Select Tool is in use.

In the preferences there is only the optimized/preserved setting related to strokes though I'm not familiar with most changes (since 0.48...)

Edit: hmm so embedding images inside quotes doesn't work.

That did it Lazur. oh thank you!  I've never ever set that button, so the default may be the opposite of what it used to be.  I don't think of stroke as being transformed - will now!  yay.

Not sure what you mean Lazur.  This button allows you to embed an image in a message   [ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Oh, I think I know what you mean.  I was thinking you meant quotation marks, and drawing a blank.  But you mean an image inside a quote in a message?

The only way that could possibly work, is if the image is part of what you want to quote.  However, I disabled that, for a few reasons.

I can restore that, if it's wanted.  However, notice how there's a link where the image was supposed to be?  So you can still find the image.
