Title: Invalid XML file
Post by: Ryan Trullinger on March 06, 2019, 06:48:15 AM
Today when I started Inkscape, I got an error message that the preferences.XML file was an invalid xml file, Inscape would start in default preference mode and new settings would not be saved. What is up with this?
Never in the 10 years or so have I had this issue.

Seems the file was corrupted when Inkscape closed, probably it crashed, or the computer crashed due to some other issue (e.g. blackout) during closing and saving of the preferences file.

To fix this, locate the indicated file on your computer, and rename it or remove it. This means that, unfortunately, your settings will be lost. You could probably partially restore them from the broken file, if you want to.
