Having problems exporting svg to eps Adobe compat.
Hi guys, I have tried to export my svg to eps but I am having problems. I would like to upload some images to stock site, however the stock site requires the images in an EPS format which is also Adobe 8 compatible. I have exported my graphic to an EPS and then tried re-opening it in Gimp, however i...

Re: Ladybugs
I like your ladybug but I think you can make a few tweaks to make it look stronger. If you smooth out the top wing where it joins with the head. Give it the same round curve as your other wing so they meet at a final point. The red body could be brighter and have more depth to it. Maybe getting rid ...

Mac Tip for copying images from window to window
Hi everyone, I have noticed their has been a few Mac users having the same problem as me copying artwork from one window to the next. Here is the solution: Open the artwork that you're currently working on. Go File > Import and go to the .svg file then click open. This should open your old .svg docu...

Re: Copy / Paste in X11 on OS X
Hi guys,
I am having the same problem trying to copy and paste between two Inkscape windows. I have opened up a new instance and it still doesn't make a difference.
I am also a Mac user and I was wondering when someone is going to compile an update as the last update was back in September 2008

Re: How can I prevent banding in my png?
@microugly I followed your 1.5 conversion rate, exported the image as a png then resized it in Gimp. The resize reduced some of the banding issues, however I applied a blurred outline to smooth it out further. Unfortunately during this process the image has lost the crisp outline. I hope with furthe...

Re: How can I prevent banding in my png?
microugly thank you for taking the time to provide the screen shots so I could see the comparison. I will try exporting the file at 1.5 times and resize the png in Gimp.
Cheers I will let you know how I go.

Re: How can I prevent banding in my png?
Thanxs microugly for the info about the Batik rasterizer. I had another look in my .svg file and what I thought was banding was actually jagged pixelation. It's occurs when the edge of a light colour meets a dark colour. I have tried adjusting the colours, changing the thickness of lines but the pix...

How can I prevent banding in my png?

I am currently running the latest build but my latest .svg file is experiencing the same banding issues once exported. Could someone p...

Re: Why does the stroke in my .png file look pixelated?
@microugly I have been accused of being anal once or twice or a perfectionist. Hmm! I guess it's not a bad thing, especially for the Inkscape project. :) I had another look at my image because you guys were talking about gradient banding, the green circle with the stroke is gradient free. I forgot t...

Like your bag of candy. I agree with Pipo if the text flowed with the creases of the bag it would look more realistic.
Would like to see a revised version.

Re: possibility to create a whole linked SVG-website
Wow what a fantastic idea! Guys that is really cool to think that an .svg image file can be used to create a webpage without knowing any html. Considering how messy html standards are, to be able to use an Inkscape .svg file might be a lot easier for people who are naturally artistic. When you think...

Re: Converting file formats.
Hi everyone,
I have a few .ai files that I need to convert to a .svg format but I am not familiar with using a commandline.
I have been to the Wiki but the download file doesn't exist.
What should I do now?

Re: Why does the stroke in my .png file look pixelated?
I enlarged the image in Inkscape and exported the .svg to a .png. I resized the image in Gimp like you suggested and it worked. Whilst this is a quick fix it would be nice to see this little problem ironed out. ;) However I did encounter one slight problem, the colours of images were effected. It ma...

Re: Why does the stroke in my .png file look pixelated?
Thanks for replying. I am running 09.01.08 dev vers for Mac Osx Leopard. Unfortunately I never used the mask tool in previous builds, so I am unsure if it is a problem with this version. I tried the blur effect on the stroke to try and reduce the pixelation, but I haven't tried the clean up method i...

Hi everyone, I created this cute little guy and I am having problems with clarity when I export him to a .png. I hope I don't bore you but below I have included the steps that might help in solving my little problem. I drew a character and put a blue circle with a stroke(with 0.2 blur) and no fill. ...

Verdana font not displaying in Inkscape?
Hi everyone, I am a Mac OS X user and I am running the 30th Nov dev ver. I am having problems with Inkscape not displaying the Verdana font in the font drop down box. The other alternative would be to use Geneva as it is recommended as the alternative font for Mac Users. However, Verdana also comes ...
