Re: Inkscape success stories
Hola. Tengo un estudio de diseño gráfico en Argentina y estamos trabajando casi totalmente con software libre. No se si se podrá llamar una "historia de éxito", pero podría darte algo de información y ejemplos que podrían serte de utilidad. Excellent! I'll be contacting you. Please people...

Inkscape success stories
Hi there! I'm pursuing an initiative to introduce Inkscape to the SENA office here in Cartagena de Indias (read "Inkscape promotion in Colombia" at the developers mailing list). The SENA is the national service for training people in trades. The goal is to convince them to try Inkscape and...

Re: KIDSCAPE (Inkscape version for kids)
Apologies Zelus. I just made my own assumption that you were some person making assumptions about people in developing countries. Shame on me. :) It's okay :) Thanks to you the topic arises and a project to offer Inkscape in developing countries could be discussed later. I am still wary about this ...

Re: KIDSCAPE (Inkscape version for kids)
With regards the discussion about a lite version there maybe a case for making a cut down version but when I look at what you might take out of the interface I'm not sure if anything should go. It is pretty easy to see what most things do from the icon and really my 9 year old can figure more compl...

Re: Smoothing lines
Yes I already tried it but it tends to distort the drawing before getting desired smooth.

[solved] Smoothing lines
Greetings. Is there a feature to have lines "smooth" automatically in Inkscape? Also other ways to get smooth lines would be very helpful. The reason is because when I work on nodes with my mouse, I get irregular lines and placement of nodes can be noticed, no matter how much I stretch and...

Re: Print-ready design
Thank you so much prkos.
All your advice much appreciated. God bless you all.
P.S.: FF contest fellows request an SVG file but they ask for it to be CMYK as well? Contradictory, isn't it?

Re: Print-ready design
My question was because I want to participate in the FF3 T-Shirt Design Contest but they say the design must be print-ready. I don't know what they mean.

Print-ready design
Greetings.
I'd like to know what does it mean a design is "print-ready" and how to achieve that with Inkscape. Thanks in advance.
God bless you all.

Re: KIDSCAPE (Inkscape version for kids)
Thanks Coco! Now I'm not only excited but also thrilled :D logo is nice. I think we could open polls to give choose things such as an animal toon mascot for advertising. Maybe, some pre-installed gradients (rainbow...) inside or shapes from OCAL. I really like this. It would also be very encouraging...

Re: KIDSCAPE (Inkscape version for kids)
I think you mean to thank Coco :) Oh, my. I apologize that much, Coco. It's just that I was using Inkscape at the other window, trying some suggestions on tracing from Microugly. I confused. Thank you for your support Coco. Sorry again. My brother e.g. he's designing a logo for his would-be club. H...

Re: KIDSCAPE (Inkscape version for kids)
Thank you Microugly for supporting this suggestion. You know I posted this in Inkscape user mailinglist and got only two replies. I don't really know how does a blueprint works but I was told it's useful so I registered it. I think we can have more people know about this so they get involved too.

Thanks a lot Microugly, your suggestion was very helpful. But 0.46 was already released? Had no idea! Is it stable and all the stuff?

KIDSCAPE (Inkscape version for kids)
Greetings One of the Inkscape good points is that it's not only easy but more important it looks easy. I realized that when my 12 years brother (who has little experience with computers and none with vector editors) took a chance to draw some vector toons on Inkscape with some amount of success (whe...

[solved] Help on Tracing
Greetings I'm new to tracing so I'm asking for good Inkscape material on it: tutorials, advices, and what is more important, examples of tracing in both modes (single and multi). For example I tried this image . After tracing it was nice result, but all a single integrated object. I used break apart...

How to integrate dialogs and main window?
I've noticed that dialogs (e.g. the layer dialog) and other floating stuff are open in different windows, so it gets uncomfortable switching from window to window. Maybe I've not made proper configuration. How can I get all dialogs to be integrated with the main window? Help would be appreciated. Go...

Re: Where is my Inkscape palettes directory?
Thanks shawnhcorey. however, I see it won't let me name the directory ".inkscape" but only "inkscape". It says "you must type a file name". Why is that?
