Re: Text in a sprial (or other shape) ???

WOW WOW WOW!!! I feel so special and I really appreciate it. So, how does one know when words are text or when it's an object? (I want to cut it with Sure Cuts a Lot which rewires .svg and I guess objects.) I mean, it there a tag or whatever or is it just you know if you've done what you say, then y...

Re: Text in a sprial (or other shape) ???

I am sorry but I think I'm jinxed! You have gone above and beyond! I have a MAC and had to download the latest Quicktime. I restarted my computer but nothing happens with your link. (Sometimes I get a window and the screen is black and the arrow is moving at the bottom like I'm watching but it's all...

Re: Text in a sprial (or other shape) ???

I know how to select both but I don't see the choice "convert to path". (I see convert to text...) so I can't see if I can do the rest.... Thanks for working with me!

Re: Text in a sprial (or other shape) ???

Didn't work.... And I even tried when I shift click both the text and the star (object). (I had thought you'd do it the same way as with text to path but with object but it doesn't work. Nothing happens.

I have a star (with a dashed box around it) and a line of text(with a dashed box around it)...

Re: Text in a spiral (or other shape) ???

Thanks. New One now... I want to wrap text around a shape (like a star. I can do it with text to path..and I can even remove the object after. But then I want to cut with SCAL which needs svg format. But when I import it into SCAl, nothing is there but the line. No text. I'm told it's n/c SCAl needs...

Re: inkscape mac osx not installing

It used to work and then stopped.. I think I've realized that maybe there was an automatic upgrade which screwed things up. I would boot Inkscape and it would be in the menubar but nothig would happen. When it's correct, X11 is in the menubar but Inscape window is open. I worked for a while last nig...

[solved] Printing--Too large scale ?

I scanned in a shape and drew a line following it. I wrote text and made text to path. I deleted the line. Then if I print it, it's huge. One time when I exported it as a pdf to photoshop, it was the right size...but I don't know what I did.

Is it a resolution problem?

Thanks!

[solved] Text in a sprial (or other shape) ???

Is there a way to type and make the letter follow a shape? (That is without typing each letter and dragging it onto a shape). I know you can do this in Photoshop (but I have Photoshop Elements and you can't do it) and it uses something called a path and I see there are paths in Inkscape... Thought I...
