I'm afraid that this is a known bug in Inkscape 0.92.0. Inkscape 0.92.1 is available now, and may resolve this issue for you.

The question that you are asking is equivalent to asking "how do I make a flat map of the earth where all of the continents are the correct shapes -- like they are on a globe -- without distortion?" Or equivalently, how can you take a flat map of the earth, and wrap it around a globe? And ...

Thanks for your reply. I've looked at the SignCut extension, and all that it does is send the raw Inkscape SVG to SignCut-- it doesn't even so much as look at the contents.
I'll hope to hear from anyone else who might have thoughts on the subject.
