Has anyone ever figured out how to make shape-based gradients? Like if you had a large plus (+) shape, could you get a gradient that radiates along each "arm" of the plus? If you had a blobby shape like a puddle of water, get the gradient to ripple along the edges matching the puddle? I tr...

I'm using Inkscape Portable version 0.48.4. Sorry for not mentioning that earlier. The text I want is on a path. Is there a way to embed the font and have it work on the pathed text? I'm ok with doing that if I have to.
