Re: Making Business card Template
I'm using an older version of inkscape, 0.48. I don't think it's a sizing issue druban, it just seems to print a bit off and not perfectly centered.
If I upgrade to the newest version of Inkscape, does it install over the old one or do I have to uninstall the old one firest?

Re: Making Business card Template
Yeah I checked the measurements to be sure they are the same. What do you mean by "setting the lines according to the Avery package? I was finally able to print them correctly from photoshop elements after I save it as a pdf file in Inkscape, but I would have preferred to print them directly fr...

Making Business card Template
I followed the tutorial at http://goinkscape.com/create-a-business-card-template-in-inkscape for making a business card template but when I printed it the business cards overlapped and were not within the boundries, the bottom cards overlapped the top cards and the left side overlapped the right sid...

Re: Alphabet Blocks
I don't seem to have "path effects", the closest I see in the path menu is "path effect editor" anyway thanks to durban's illustration I was able to understand and get my letters on correctly:

Re: Alphabet Blocks
Thank you for that link Byrnn, I didn't get much of it but understood enough to get the letter on correctly. Use the perspective LPE, it's much easier. Select text, then do Path > Path effects > + > Perspective/Envelope, switch to node tool to drag the nodes. Where is that located? I can't seem to f...

Thanks very much for the link! I tried adding a letter to the cube with the perspective extension but the letter on the left side of cube gets turned sideways, what am I doing wrong?

Re: Alphabet Blocks
Thanks, that's exactly what I want to achieve, but I don't know how to use the 3d box tool to get the perspective or shape that I want. Is there a trick to drawing the cube manually?

Re: Making Seamless Tiles
Tiled clones still have the rendering gap issue. Slightly related article . Probably you don't see gaps because you are using a certain zoom level and your tiles are perfectly aligned to a pixel grid. You're right, when I zoomed out I could see lines running through but when I saved it as an eps fi...

Re: Making Seamless Tiles
Thanks everyone for the help. I haven't tried the extension, maybe I'll give it a try. Thanks Raspi for explaining how you would do it, I want to give it a try but I'm not sure what you mean by "displace"? The bug they're talking about was fixed because I didn't get any gaps when I cloned ...

Re: Making Seamless Tiles
The tutorial specifically says to use geometric bounding, I tried the visual box option and I end up with huge spaces between the clipped tile when I clone it. What is fill pattern, do you know of a tutorial that explains it? I would love to be able to make seamless tiles in an easier way with less ...

Making Seamless Tiles
I have been learning to make vector seamless tiles using the tutorial at http://www.verysimpledesigns.com/vectors/inkscape-tutorial-seamless-patterns.html but after I clip the tile the selection box goes beyond the tile and not rap right up close around it as shown in the tutorial (last example in t...
