Can anyone say how well Inkscape runs on Mavericks? Just fine, or quirky enough that it's better on Mountain Lion?
thanks for anything you can share about this!

Inkscape prefs don't save. OS X 10.8.5
Had this problem in Mavericks, now seeing in Mt. Lion: set my prefs for inkscape and after quitting, then relaunching inkscape, the prefs are not what I set them to.
Anyone know about this? Any fix to it? Am I wrong to think that changes to preferences are written to the hard disk for later use?

where to find what's needed for extensions OS X
Can someone help me with a link to whatever file(s) needed to enable the Extensions to work. I'm on OS X, Mt. Lion..I found one promising link but got a warning that the file had been deprecated, so thought I should hold out for something better..
thank you for any links/advice.

Re: type stylesheets for Inkscape?
Actually I have the same questions as Minky above, thought CSS was for viewing in websites or apps only. I also wonder how long ago that part of the manual was written. some of the manual gets updated a lot and some is original, so I'm wondering if it's still in it's infancy or maybe someone has wo...

Re: type stylesheets for Inkscape?
no, my idea would be so that we could introduce type styles to Inkscape, via CSS.
but I am not a programmer so I don't know whether my idea is relatively simple to implement, with the "hooks" already there, or more like trying to build a suspension bridge across the pacific ocean.

Re: type stylesheets for Inkscape?
oh, ok..here's the concept of a stylesheet.. originated in word processing apps and page layout apps, like quark and indesign, then later on the web as css A stylesheet contains attributes of a hunk of type..what font, what size, what leading...width, paragraph spacing, etc. All hunks assigned to th...

type stylesheets for Inkscape?
Is it possible to create text stylesheets in Inkscape? I only see selection of face and size and a few other attributes but nothing like a style sheet as in InDesign or even Illustrator. If not a stylesheet tool that resides within Inkscape, how about allowing Inkscape to link to a CSS style sheet, ...

how do I make inkscape tell me what the image name is? Select the image and the message in the status line tells you the path to the image and its name. Alternatively, right-click the image and choose 'Image Properties' from the context menu. In the dialog, you can edit the path if you know where t...

Re: Advice on having 2+ docs open
Spaces and floating dialogs of X11 applications don't mix well (switching spaces by clicking on the dock icons fails if e.g. inkscape has a floating dialog open).[/size] I am on Lion myself...10.7.1 to be specific. Inkscape/X11 appear to be playing nicely with Mission Control desktops. what's espec...

Re: Advice on having 2+ docs open
Omgoodness, I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't have more than one Inkscape document open at a time! Fortunately for me, I prefer the docked dialogs. But I think that many Inkscape users want, if not need to have multiple docs open at once. true dat, brynn...it is a real-world necessity to have ...

More fonts available to Inkscape? OS X
when I need to use fonts in Inkscape, I see an ocean of fonts that I presume come with Inkscape, and I see only some of my own fonts. Is there a way to get Inkscape to "see" more of my fonts, and for me to trim out the ones that come with Inkscape?
thanks!

How to MAKE palettes be in the dock?
hope this doesn't sound like a dumb question. I can get my layers, fill and stroke, transform, etc. all to be floating palettes. And I can get them to "iconify" But I can not get them to "live" as docked palettes, fixed to the drawing window. I've scoured the prefs and menus for ...

OK...good to have the information; sad the answer is no. and yes, Shift-R does "reverse" the gradient for me. SO...for inkscapers who DO want to make color stops in gradients change places they're stuck wtih making new colors for each..are there plans to make it so that you can move stops ...

yes, I was using the gradient tool (keyboard shortcut g) and I can not achieve what I am asking about with it.
perhaps it is not possible in inkscape at this time?
