Re: (solved)Inkscape accessing more cores for Ungrouping.
I had tried the box drag, but my one doesn't do what that GIF does. The Text, F&S, Trans dialogue pretty much lock in place and size and no amount of dragging does anything. I updated from 9.2pre to the official 9.2 and it kind-of works now, just that it doesn't have the scroll bar on the side b...

Re: (solved)Inkscape accessing more cores for Ungrouping.
I somehow became an expert on another forum and it can be hard at times, so I know what you guys have to deal with. And I'm a newby everywhere else which can be hard when you get talked down to, like when there was a misunderstanding in my 1st post 2 years ago ;) . It's all cool, and you guys do a w...

Re: (solved)Inkscape accessing more cores for Ungrouping.
I wish it was that simple. When you don't know anything, or know what it can do, you don't know what question to ask. And if you knew what it could do, you wouldn't be asking. I would have never asked if I can cut a view out of a .pdf, because I never thought a .pdf could be an image. I didn't even ...

Re: (solved)Inkscape accessing more cores for Ungrouping.
Yeah that was only half the story. http://www.inkscapeforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=20327&p=76747#p76747 They keep telling me to Ungroup, but not that I had to do it multiple times to the base. Oh Well, at least I now know a quicker way. This is what the drawings turn into. http://speeduino....

Re: (solved)Inkscape accessing more cores for Ungrouping.
Oh well, that works too. When I asked the question "Can't rectangle select parts in this drawing"(PDF) on Sat Dec 19, 2015 I was told I had to Ungroup, so that's the way I've been doing it for years. I just noticed this in that post, so maybe there wasn't Deep Ungroup back then. In inkscap...

Re: Inkscape accessing more cores.
Yah, Deep Ungroup works fast. A single Select All/Ungroup and you can't box select a section with the pointer. So I asked on the forum 2 years ago and a guy told me you keep doing the Ungroup until you get to the base level, and then you can box select a bunch of nodes. I've been doing the Select Al...

Re: Inkscape accessing more cores.
For the first Ungrouping that sounds right, but Ungrouping to the base, ie No more groups to ungroup, so you can box select just 1 part view takes ages. Basically I wanted the top left plan view, and the bottom left front view. Thankfully this was a small part, but the other part I did had maybe 500...

Re: Inkscape accessing more cores.
I thought that was the case. The first Ungroup to 8,800 only takes a few min, but the Ungroup to base took so long that I couldn't wait so I node selected the 50 elements and grouped them and copied it to another drawing. It's kind-of weird how some of the datasheet PDF's are copies of a drawings(ra...

(solved)Inkscape accessing more cores for Ungrouping.
When I ungroup a 20,000+ node technical PDF drawing it can take maybe 1 hour, so while I was waiting I looked at Win Task Manager it only shows 1 maybe 2 cores doing something. I have a i7 4770 8 core so is there any way to get it to do more, or is it a limitation of INK software.

Re: Trace Bitmap stops working after undo
That's annoying. I have a habit of ignoring the bottom msg, because when I started I had a big problem with it when it miss lead me by only giving me half the story. So it changes selection from the jpg to the svg, and when you delete it it takes the selection with it, rather than it reverting back ...

Re: Can Inksape deal with more than 10,000 objects?
Sorry if this was covered, because I didn't read all the posts, but 12,500 objects in my i7 4770 isn't a problem. From memory it was maybe ½ to 1 hour to Ungroup the PDF to base level, but after that it's fine. Here is the PDF http://www.te.com/commerce/DocumentDelivery/DDEController?Action=showdoc&...

[solved]Trace Bitmap stops working after undo
I Trace Bitmap a jpg and undo, and then Trace Bitmap seams to stop working. To clear it you either have to close the page down and start again, or delete the svg in XML Editor and import again. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWcpnGX4x30&feature=youtu.be It would be good if you could Undo with h...

Re: Is there a grid bug using mm
If you keep it the same units that Grid box opens with, it works fine. If you change to any other units for Grid the origin won't change on first entry, and in fact won't change if you add the same value in again, it only works on the second try if the value is different from the first, and then you...

Re: Nodes Double in XML Edit
I did a quick test with it docked, and it was fine. The problem is that the XML Editor is hard to use when you dedicate half of the second monitor to it, because we have hundreds or maybe thousands of nodes, so having it that small is a big pain. Now that we have narrowed it down a bit, hopefully so...

Re: Nodes Double in XML Edit
I unplugged my 2nd monitor and rebooted and this is what it does.
https://youtu.be/Uu8bU1v39hc
Not that I want to keep the XML docked, as I need half a monitor just for that, but how do you dock the XML. I click Iconify this dock and a vertical tab appears in the dock.

Re: Is there a grid bug using mm
I was doing a INK tutorial, and the bug still happens in 9.2. It happened twice in this video.
https://youtu.be/zuFBi8EgfF0?t=14m
Seams to happen with inch units, or maybe if you change the units.
Open Inkscape.
File/Document Properties/Grid, set to inch.
Change offset, and it doesn't move.

Re: Nodes Double in XML Edit
I was making a tutorial video about INK and I had 2 windows open, so I closed one so that the doubling problem won't come up in the tutorial. Well half way through it doubled when I grouped. Looks like that maybe if you had 2 windows open and close one, it can still happen. https://youtu.be/zuFBi8Eg...

Re: Nodes Double in XML Edit
Here is the video. There is another fault where you can't select a window unless one is minimised, plus the bottom tabs go out of order, plus if you press a button in the left toolbar it switches to another Inkscape window. There something about XML Editor, multiple screens, and maybe the left toolb...

Re: Nodes Double in XML Edit
There seams to be a lot of different faults, all related. It's some bug when XML Editor is open with multiple drawings. I can reliably produce this now - I did it 3 times - Open Inkscape, and open it's XML Editor. Close it - this ensures XML Editor will open automatically when Inkscape is next opene...

Re: Nodes Double in XML Edit
It still has the duplicate problem in 9.2 pre3.15195
Where do you sub bugs for 9.2?
EDIT
Just created a circle on screen, and that also produced multiple entries in XML editor.

Great.
Looks like I'll have to try the preview because the node doubling in XML Editor in the other post is a PITA and I would like that fixed

Re: INK crash/close on XML node select
Is this a fault that INK should be able to handle, or is it just a svg thing, ie should this be reported as a bug.

Re: INK crash/close on XML node select
I've got Transform, Export PNG, Fill and Stroke, and text panels open all the time, so no wonder it always happens. I think that was originally done in Illustrator, or some other free at the time program that uses a dark background. One of the views has white lines so I know the original program had...

DOH. I'm so used to INK's XML Editor I forgot about a simple text edit.
Here is the file in case it's a INK bug.

INK crash/close on XML node select
When I select "rect4318" or "rect4318-6" in XML Editor, the whole drawing shuts down and I have to reopen it again. I don't know what it is because I can't select it, and I can't delete it because I can't select it. https://www.mediafire.com/convkey/a7f6/9ya5er1rdu8i5yz6g.jpg
