That was great advice! It worked! Now, I have a couple annoying lines that I can't get to, in order to remove them. They are in the backside of that box. I think I might have found the answer... Select the "top" path. Duplicate it. Shift-Select the "bottom" path (you'll now have a copy of the top, and the original bottom selected). Do a path->difference. This is the auto-weeding operation - you now have two non-overlapping paths. ...
