[solved] Want to apply grid to an object, and do a hex grid
Some quickies here: How do I make an object, like, say, a circle, have a grid patterns on it? I made a grid but it was square shaped.
Also, can I make a hex gris?
PS Ad Astra is getting good reviews.

Re: Sizing help needed!
I think your issue stems not from anything related to inkscape but from inexperience with laying out comics. It's a skill that good comic creators make look easy, and readers often take it for granted, but anyone who starts to do their own comic quickly learns how crucial and difficult this skill c...

Sim, making an image 300dpi gives it +10 attack power.
I tried doing what you said.
It made the file BIGGER in memory terms, AND the text was unreadable.

Re: Sizing help needed!
Well, here's an example of what I'm doing and the problem I'm having: http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d25/tanhauser/aa3-1.gif I should be able to get these images down to 200K or so with a res of like 1280 X something at most, but whenever I try the legibility goes to hell. I'm aiming for an OOTS ...

Re: Sizing help needed!
If I don't resize, I get huge files that are may times the monitor's size and require scrolling all over to read. If I resize, my text goes blurry. How do I set up the initial rez so I know I can read the text in the final product?

Sizing help needed!
Ok, I'm trying to do a webcomic in the vein of "order of the stick" and I am making fair progress, but I've ran into a major snag and, as fate would have it, I can't reach the people I know beat it before me, so I have to ask here. I need to control the size and rez of the images to keep t...

Re: Ad Astra #1
BTW, how do I adjust strike color easily in inkscape? Do you mean "stripe" I think he might mean "stroke". You can change the colour easily in the Fill and Stroke dialog. You can also apply a swatch colour to a stroke by holding Shift when you click the swatch colour. Thank you,...

Re: Ad Astra #1
I take it you're not into traveller, so I'll give you a quick explanation since the strip was written for traveller fhen. Ships travel FTL in traveller via jump drive, jump drive allows a ship to essentially leave the universe as it's know, and enter jump space, an area of totally alien physics. Jum...

[solved] Ad Astra #1
This is what I'm doing with inkscape .46. It's a stickfigure webcoming based on the SFRPG "Traveller" and it was inspired by the oots D&D comic. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d25/tanhauser/adastra001r.gif Right now the images are awfully big, maybe 3x as big as they should be, I co...

Re: Cropping an object
There still may be several ways to accomplish what you want, depending on your specific situation. And I'm not knowledgable enough to give you step-by-step instructions. But in general, a Clip or Mask might do it. Or you could break all the relevant paths at the place you want it cropped, then dele...

Re: Inkscape .46
I just had .46 crash on me. So why does inkscape crash so much? I mean, it's a nice program that has a lot of features, I honestly can't figure out why the people who write it, and who are obviously intelligent and talented, can't make stability one of those features...

Re: Inkscape .46
Well inkscape .45 was crashing every 5 or so *&@!ing minutes for me, so I hope .46 is better.
BTW, is there a users manual for .46 yet? And what is the best free pdf inkspace manual out there since people here are likely to know.

Inkscape .46
I learned to do use inkscap a little with the .45 version a while back, now I hear that .46 is available. Is it easyto use .46 if you learned on .45, what are the differences between the two and how major are they?
