Re: Changing the Drop Shadow Color
You must drag below the two tabs Effects parameters and Filter General Settings to enlarge the Effect and Connection windows. Then in the list you will see a line called Flood. Just click on this line and in the Effect parameter there will be a colored rectangle. Click on this one and it will open t...

Re: Blend mode: Overlay
It doesn't work very well but it shows some result. feImage is only partially implemented. Component Transfer is completely implemented but it lacks an UI in the Filters Editor and you must change it by the XML Editor.

Perhaps linked to this bug : https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/501873
A problem not only with blur but also with other filters primitives.
Will be probably solved this summer while working on caching system.

Re: 90's faded/grainy gradient effect - is it achievable?
Here are two filters which replace the previous ones with some randomness added. Play with the two turbulences to set the two randomness levels, the Gaussian blur to set the fading progressiveness (another tip is changing your gradient colors to two close grays, and the first Composite k1 and k3 to ...

It's in usr/share/inkscape/templates. You have there a default.svg and if you use any non english language you must change your language template instead.

Re: 90's faded/grainy gradient effect - is it achievable?
Yes you must create a non transparent gradient (preferably black and white) which will be the base of your spottet gradient. Then you will be able to move the gradient handles as usual. But you can also apply the filter to a bitmap image (then try to change something in the Turbulence (increasing th...

Re: 90's faded/grainy gradient effect - is it achievable?
When I create a solid gradient fill, then go to filter editor and select either option, it either turns the whole gradient black and white or the same blue and orange as the filter, not a combination of gradient and filter. Sorry for the probably dumb question. That's exactly what is expected. The ...

Re: 90's faded/grainy gradient effect - is it achievable?
Thanks ! I assumed you had at least 0.47 installed because 0.46 had some problems with filters rendering. I think there is no harm to install 0.48 on any system with 0.46 already installed. On the other hand I didn't heard about compatibility problems with old files on new Inkscape releases these ti...

Re: 90's faded/grainy gradient effect - is it achievable?
No problem, I worked a lot on this kind of filters last year. I uploaded a new version of the filter with more stylisations possibilities. Here are the commands (when you find the same effect several times I give them a number to simplify their localization in the tree) : - Color Matrix 1 (don't use...

Yes it's possible and very customizable with the joined filter applied to a non transparent gradient.
I will take some more time tomorrow to tell you how to use it.

Re: How to Adjust Inner Shadow Filter Color /Opacity
Here is a new Inner shadow which is only a setting of the next Drop shadow filter (which stays already in the experimental filters in dev versions but without this "inner" option). It solves the transparency bug of the old one. Only play with the Flood color or transparency in Filters Edit...

I only pointed that using 98d's blue as the Tritone filter flood should give the first icon set result of my picture and not 97d's second set. And also that any hue should be replaced by this kind of blue.

Re: change hue and save
The lower set is the Tritone with Flood color #92D2FE (went with a lighter blue for these icons). Notice how most of the icons show up black. :-/ Are you sure you changed the color only in Tritone ? When I apply Tritone with your blue as Flood to the whole image I obtain the result below (with Trit...

Re: change hue and save
I actually just noticed that the bottom and right side get cut off a little (see first image - green folder). Any ideas why this is? You can easily remove this clipping. It seems you added a Flood to the tree and you didn't change the color of the one which stays already in the tree (between a color matrix and a composite).

Re: change hue and save
Perhaps could you use the Tritone filter. It's better if you need to change to a precise color : only click on the Flood name in the tree on the right side of the Filters Editor, then click on the colored rectangle below and select a color with the color selector.

Re: Switching renderer to cairo
Performance issues are also solved by many small optimizations other than Cairo. For example a new routine used to calculate Gaussian blur (introduced in recent and already available development releases : in rev 10144 if I remember well) accelerates now nicely the rendering of most filters which us...

Re: Creating fonts
You can use Inkscape font editor to create a whole font but you can also export each glyph separately in svg and import it inside Fontforge. If I remember there is a Fontforge glyph template in Inkscape svg examples folder. I didn't play a lot with Inkscape Font Editor and that was a long time ago. ...

And Cas I don't find clipping problems in these files. However you could try to increase the filter area in the General filters settings tab below the Filters editor.
