Thanks a lot for the info that`s exactly what i have been trying to do. I will try and do that over the weekend. I am hoping to be able to cut out the profile on a cnc laser cutting machine.

I traced the photo to give you a better understanding of what I am trying to achieve and kept the two that are closest to the original photo. Hi Xav, I tried the process that you give me with no success. :( On number 1 I had drawn a rectangle shape using the Bezier pen to completely cover the eye. Hi, I have traced a photograph of a face using the Path and Trace function. I scanned the photo 8 times and deleted the ones that I did not want until I had 2 traced images left. Would I be right in thinking even though the image is shaded / filled once saved as DXF the cnc laser cutter will detect the paths to cut?

At that stage you have shown is it ok to cut on the cnc laser cutter or does it have to be outlines only / no shaded areas?

I am learning how to trace a Bitmap image of a horse silhouette with as much detail as possible for a CNC laser cutting machine. What do you mean by 'trace'? Do you manually trace? Do you use Path > Trace bitmap? What line thickness are you referring to? The stroke width (width of the stroke of color that is applied to the path)? Or the area that is enclosed by a traced path? If I'm guessing correctly, you may want to try ce...
