Re: Clip part of an Object?
WOW thank you Guys again!! Such invaluable help. I did what you said Brynn, I added the 4 nodes, went break paths at selected nodes, moved the nodes and then Joined nodes. Now the cross looks more realistic like a bent piece of metal.

[solved] Clip part of an Object?
Hi I'm out of my depth trying to remove part of an object. I'm trying to make it look like this object is overlapped but have to remove the part that should look like it's laying underneath. Here is a screenshot to see what it looks like. I've put 2 small red lines beside the parts that I need to re...

Re: Save SVG as PSD or PDF without losing filter effects?
I did have the fork with the same look as the spoon originally but when I changed the page background to black, the tips of the fork kept disappearing as they were a bit darker, not that dark that I would have expected it to disappear though! I played around for a while trying to change the filter/p...

Re: Save SVG as PSD or PDF without losing filter effects?
Polygon, I got similar results when I tried earlier, the filters on the cutlery was removed. I also notice the logo font (bottom) is altered to a different font. :) Thanks for the comments hulf2012. I like the different shading on the skull and cutlery because they are two very different looking thi...

Re: Save SVG as PSD or PDF without losing filter effects?
Yes, I noticed there was double set of handles for one pattern! The little cross is there after all, just hard to see while working on the black background. I removed that troublesome fill and applied another one, adjusted it to get the same look as before and it worked! Appreciate all your help SO ...

Re: Save SVG as PSD or PDF without losing filter effects?
This is what should be the link to open the svg, maybe it will work for someone else. (I don't get the option to open it in Inkscape from dropbox).

Re: Save SVG as PSD or PDF without losing filter effects?
I'm not sure what is going on with dropbox, I put my file there and it has changed the font in dropbox and doesn't give the option to open with Inkscape like it did when I've done it before, just says open with internet explorer?? Can't figure out how to share it as an actual svg now.. Moini, I don'...

When I saved as PNG I lost pattern fill on one eye and not the other. It just seems so random.

Save SVG as PSD or PDF without losing filter effects?
Is there a way to save Inkscape svg as PSD or PDF whilst preserving the image and filter effects? Or will they always be lost? I do not need to keep the paths, just to save the image as a PSD or PDF. When I saved it as a PDF and PNG I lost filter effects. I tried pasting it into gimp and lost parts ...

Re: Part of image missing after changing fill/stroke colors.
Thanks tylerdurden, I'll check out the Z order. I'm working on a grey background in the file I'm putting it into, I just came back to this one to try and fix the missing part.

Part of image missing after changing fill/stroke colors.
Hi I created the wing top right recently but I now need to alter it. From this top right wing I removed all filters (drop-shadow), so that it looks like top left. I copied that one, ungrouped it and individually checked each separate piece but I still don't understand why when I change the fill to b...

Re: Advice for finishing file.
Hi tylerdurden, I eventually found that a fill was added to the text, you're right. It wasn't visible until I tried to make the writing darker and ended up with a big black splotch LOL. I also made the whole logo darker as the whole thing would have come out rather thin on the neck label I think. Th...

Re: Advice for finishing file.
Now I'm having another problem uploading the finished file to the company doing the heat press neck labels. I can upload it as an svg, png, etc.. I've been doing it as an svg as it alters the image less. I grouped everything and converted it to Path. The text has nodes, should this mean that it was ...

Thanks Brynn :) This is what the logo looks like now. https://www.dropbox.com/s/or1dccncvic9h40/Screenshot%202016-02-11%2023.47.54.png?dl=0 I need to use it for a neck label (heat press) which goes on the inside back neck of tshirts. I want it to be 3" x 1.25" and I was told to make it 200...

Re: Advice for finishing file.
Oh thank you so much Bryn, I am working on adding text and will do as you've suggested. So when I've completely finished the logo, I should go "Clean Up Document" and that won't visibly alter the logo just simplify/make the file smaller? This is how the image looks now, what was incorrectl...

Advice for finishing file.
Hi, I'm learning Inkscape by myself and have made a second simpler version of wings for a logo I'm trying to create. This pic shows how I made it. https://www.dropbox.com/s/do1795og6qczkln/Screenshot%202016-02-11%2009.05.42.png?dl=0 This is the final image, I've just added dropshadows. Do I need to ...

Re: My layers just stopped working, can't select them.
Oh okay thanks heaps, Moini! I grouped everything to duplicate. I also tried ungrouping everything but didn't realise that I physically had to go through and re-add them back to their original layers.. Think I will have to make my own troubleshooting list so I remember my mistakes. Thanks again.

My layers just stopped working, can't select them.
No idea what I've done (noob), all of a sudden I can't open and close the different layers. BUT one layer (wing bone) opens and closes ALL layers, so that everything either shows or everything completely disappears. My History is also very limited. This is the file I've been working on for a couple ...

Re: "Arrow" appears as part of my image created with Bezier tool
Welcome aboard! If you cannot remove it in the fill and stroke tab (Shift+Ctrl+F) under the stroke style options -markers-none- than probably it is somekind of a bug. There was one similar bug when using custom markers on a rectangle that could appear no matter if the stroke was switched off, along...

Re: "Arrow" appears as part of my image created with Bezier tool
Also the "arrow" is formatted the same as the wing bone, black with a grey outline. That's why I thought I created it but I can't manipulate the nodes to get rid of it!

"Arrow" appears as part of my image created with Bezier tool
Hi, I'd really appreciate some help. I'm using Inkscape 0.91. I've been working on a logo (image is a wing) for a couple of months and am dying to get it finished. (I still need to work on line thickness and color as you can see they vary in the pic but that's not the issue). There is this arrow cir...
