Re: Why has the Inkscape team given up on OS X?
regarding trying Linux, it may be possible to install Linux on your computer and keep Os X too - this is called dual booting - you choose Os X or Linux at boot up- http://www.brighthub.com/computing/linux/articles/34826.aspx or maybe try Puppy Linux and boot off a USB stick. Looks like the track 'red' is the stroke. I think if the white is the stroke it draws on top and the fill colour is under neath?

Did you use 'repeated, stretched' or 'single stretched'.
I couldn't find the original oval path in your SVG, so I make I new one and did 'pattern along path' using your block-

Re: Inkscape to create running track
Hi hockeymd, Welcome to the forum. Inkscape doesn't use 'art brushes' in the same way. However, there is an extension that can do a similar job. I've used a thinner 'track block', but you can play about and see what you get. Sometimes the extension gives an odd output, try again if this happen. Have...

Re: Retheming the 7 Wonders Boardgame
An easy way would be to copy the design of the originals, including borders and icons etc. your examples have low contrast with one color dominating - was that on purpose?

Re: Simple line drawings
Hi 28martin I'm not 100% sure what you need. It is easy to remove part of objects. One method is to edit the nodes, by double clicking. Another is to cut bits off 'solid' objects. see Boolean operations at- http://inkscape.org/doc/advanced/tutorial-advanced.html If you have a path you want to cut, g...

possibly the 'greys' are on a different layer?
a work around could be to copy everything you want to a blank document.

mtPaint allows you to posterize. Its much lighter weight than gimp - handy if you just want to modify the colors.

Re: How to use /usr/share/inkscape/gradients ?
looks like inkscape stores the gradients in the SVG file. to transfer between inkscape and gimp- To import Inkscape gradient into Gimp, just place the SVG file containing the gradient into the gimp gradients folder and refresh the Gradient dialog. The gradients will be imported and you can see them ...
