Re: Clock Face using Object - Arrange
I find that, when it's rotated right and the selection is in order (1-12 or a - m), I can get a consistent outcome. ALL other things being equal. After considerable experimentation. Even when I get something to work once. Undo and apply give me inconsistent results. I've tried two different fonts an...

Re: Clock Face using Object - Arrange
I also tried it with the letters a through m rather than 1 through 12 because I wouldn't have to deal with the grouping or combining of numbers 10 through 12 and the possible problems that could cause. I've got either an erratic OS or an erratic mouse causing problems. Using the letters a through m ...

Re: Clock Face using Object - Arrange
There's also the problem of getting the rotation just right. I noticed "flip"ping a circle and rotating it do not result in the same outcome. Trying to figure out just where the rotation points need to be for even a desired outcome even if not an accurate outcome is a problem as well. And ...

Re: Clock Face using Object - Arrange
I'm using 0.92 64 bit Linux. I would think applying consistent process returns a consistent result. I thought I had a consistent process. I can't seem to get a consistent result. Maybe this is intended to work with polygons in which the order is of no significance. Say, Squares or Stars or Triangles...

Re: Clock Face using Object - Arrange
I take it all back.
I tried to recreate my results based on this tutorial.
It's a moving target.
Probably better off and quicker to just rearrange them manually.
Nevermind.

Clock Face using Object - Arrange
This in reference to this: Clock Face http://www.inkscapeforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=18567&p=70365&hilit=clock+face#p70365 and this: how to make circular text that is numerals around a circle. https://answers.launchpad.net/inkscape/+question/271165 I figured there's got to be a way to ...

Random Rotation - Multiple Objects
Is there an object or a script or an extension that allows one to select multiple objects and rotate them randomly?

Re: On Meander (Grecian Pattern)
I'm also hoping that if I show folks how to do the simple stuff, it'll spur the designers
with MUCH better skills than I on to more challenging designs.
Kind of the, if you can't win the race, make the person who beats you break the record
principle.

Re: On Meander (Grecian Pattern)
Yeah, I saw the other tutorial. Some of it is in reference to "Pattern on Path". That's what I was speaking to. One post mentions using Transform and LPE, but not "Bend" explicitly. I think that post also references "Pattern on path". Re: commercial patterns, it may jus...

Re: On Meander (Grecian Pattern)
If you're not familiar with the Bend tool, there's this: http://www.inkscapeforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=5625 I find it easier than "Pattern on Path". "Pattern on Path" locks my system up. Even on another system when it worked, I wasn't getting the desired results. Bend, fo...

On Meander (Grecian Pattern)
I've been playing around with this of late. It amuses me that sites charge for this. It's fairly simple to do. I'm using a method I haven't seen here that I hope is fairly easy to grasp as well as versatile. I've attached an SVG file which I hope helps in the understanding. I use the Live "Path...
