Sharp Points

Any tips on getting consistent sharp points on objects? I have attached an example where I was able to get some points sharp, but others are very rounded. Almost seemed like luck that some points are sharp.

Re: Open Cutout

I figured it out. I wasn't on the path edit tool.

Re: Open Cutout

Doesn't seem to be working, I must be missing something. I tried on a new document with two ellipses. Highlighted both, and chose Cut Path, but it seems to only remove one of the ellipses.

Open Cutout

Wasn't sure what to use for a search string for this question. Let's say I have an object that I want to remove a section like a cutout, but then leave the gap completely open. Example; Before http://img849.imageshack.us/img849/9587/66947505.png After http://img821.imageshack.us/img821/4861/87620958...

Re: Help With Fill

Sorry to waste time, I am an admitted inkscape rookie. Somehow I had the fill color the same as the color of the background. It was filling the area fine, but with the background color.

Re: Help With Fill

One more issue. I have a number of bounded areas which I have been able to fill with the bucket tool. It was working fine, but all of a sudden, instead of filling the area, it seems to just fill the inside edges rather than the entire negative space. Any thoughts?

Re: Help With Fill

Thanks brynn, that also definitely helps. I have located the rogue unclosed paths and corrected. I also just figured out how to join two unconnected end points. Like I said, very new and appreciate the assistance.

Re: Help With Fill

Thanks for the insight, I think I know how to resolve this now. How did you make the object? Basically by drawing connecting lines. I have a raster image that I layered below the lines layer, and traced it. I'm pretty new to vector work, very new to Inkscape, and likely not approaching it correctly.

Help With Fill

This is an object that was created by me. http://img831.imageshack.us/img831/6554/28585431.png When using Fill, it adds extra lines, and also fills in areas that shouldn't be filled. http://img140.imageshack.us/img140/8459/43794168.png I've circled the areas in red which are affected. Any ideas on w...
