Re: How to fit an inverted gradient to a shape?

Screen Shot 2013-10-21 at 9.57.45 PM.png I don't want a rectangular gradient, that was just for demonstration purposes. Fortunately I found an answer. Step 1: draw shape step 2: duplicate it step: 3 use Path > Dynamic Offset then click and drag LMB outwards. Step 4: Create new layer move shape into...

Re: How to fit an inverted gradient to a shape?

As I said this is a simplified version of my problem the real shape I'm working with has no straight lines and several dozen anchor points.

How to fit an inverted gradient to a shape?

I am trying to fit an inverted gradient precisely to a shape and I can only get as far as inverting the gradient using shift + r but I can't figure out how to conform the gradient to the shape. I am using the current version of Inkscape on a Mac. Please help!

Here is a simplified view of my problem, the shape is rectangular but the gradient is circular I need the gradient to be rectangular as well.

Re: work lost and don't know where it is

Yes, I searched and my computer found the old file but not the latest one. The comments you linked me to seem to match the problem I'm experiencing but I'm not sure how to get to that recently-used.xbel file or if it even exists on my machine. I'm still confused though does this mean my work just va...

work lost and don't know where it is

I'm running OSX 10.8.0 (Inkscape 0.48.2) on a macbook pro and I was working on a vector project and I made sure to save my work before turning off my computer. After I turned it back on later my image had disappeared and I could only find an older version of the image I had saved to my desktop a day...

New here! and can't bend vector lines.

warning: I am a total noob at this so I don't yet understand any of the lingo. I am running Inkscape 0.48.2 with XQuartz on a 2011 17" macbook pro running 10.8.0 mountain lion. I am trying to vector my first ever image and have drawn a line with the Bezier curves tool but I cannot bend the line...
