Need Advice
I have a friend who has asked me to teach her Inkscape which I use and love. The problem is that she has a Mac and I have Windows. Will the instructions I send her be different for her on the Mac. I don't really know anything about a Mac as I have never used one.

AI Patterns
I used to have AI but don't have it any more. I now use Inkscape. However, although I am able to open and work with general graphic AI files in Inkscape I was wondering if it is possible to open and work with a pack of pattern files. For example normally you get 4 or 6 patterns on one file and in AI...

Re: Splitting a puzzle piece
Sorry! When I tried it the first time after you said Boolean Operation and divide it didn't work out which is why I asked for instruction thinking I did something wrong and wanted to see what I did wrong but I have now got it right.

Splitting a puzzle piece
Is it possible to split and make a puzzle piece in Inkscape? I'm not talking about your standard puzzle piece. I want to make a rectangle and then in the center add a curved or jagged line. Then join the two and somehow split the image so that I have two puzzle halves. Hope that makes sense. Am I ab...

Convert line drawing to vector
Is it possible to convert a line drawing to vector? In other words my line drawing is completely transparent - no fill. I have tried doing it the way you would normally convert an image to vector by going path>Trace Bitmap but when I do that it changes the black line to grey and thickens the line. W...

[solved] Break Apart Question
I am new to Inkscape but absolutely loving it. I do have a question with regards to converting an image to SVG. Once you have removed your colour layers and need to create the solid image background via the Break Apart function, how do I get the centre of the letter to remain clear/transparent? http...
