Nice hints and tips! I was trying to recreate someone elses logo (from JPG to SVG) to add to a contest entry. Although I had no known filters, I thought of your suggestions and turned off filters and it sped things up.

Wow, hard not to imagine you did this in Blender. The depth and shadow are amazing and the blurr adds to the effect so well. I feel like I learned something looking at this also.
