The Inkscape download page says 0.48.4 but it still links to the old 0.48.2 file.
I can't see the request for OS X developers on the Inkscape site either.
I really hope some OS X developers will join in.

Re: Seamless pattern maker?
Thanks druban, But i don't see how this will be easy as in helping me doing for example an ornament like pattern like my previous posted image? The tiled clones just makes copies of objects, it doesn't help put objects that are going outside the border to its corresponding place in the work area to ...

Re: Seamless pattern maker?
Thanks for the replies. What i would like to have is an easier way to produce images that are tilable for using as 3D textures and large background images. In the Illustrator video they make seamless patterns visually very easy and can change graphic around and get instant view of how their patterns...

Seamless pattern maker?
Hi, Does anyone know if there's anything in the work to make seamless patterns easy? I like the ease of Inkscape and use it as much as possible to make graphic and textures for Blender rather than doing it in pixel based programs so i can return and rescale and modify when needed. But one thing that...

Re: Rotation by numbers like Indesign
If i look at the XML editor i can see that after I've rotated an object it gets an Transformation tag. I know nothing about coding but if i clear that tag the object resets to 0 rotation again (as well as moves for some reason) So the rotation info already is saved. Still the Transform tool shows 0 ...

Re: Rotation by numbers like Indesign
Hello Jelle, Yes i know of the Object Transform but it doesn't show rotations you've made freely, only made from that Transform tool. It wouldn't be practical to type in numbers to try do a rotation as needed from the Transform tool. Also if you rotate more than once you can't reset the object to 0 ...

Rotation by numbers like Indesign
Hello, One thing i often feel is missing in Inkscape is to click an object or group that I've previous have freely rotated and see the degree it now is rotated and be able to change or even reset the rotation. The funny thing is that Illustrator actually seems to miss this feature to while Indesign ...

Re: The "The fantastic lxml wrapper..." issue in OS X 10.7.1
Thanks ~suv!
I used the EggBot2.2.2.r2 patch from your link and it worked great.
I thought that the needed python libraries was included in the Inkscape app to avoid these things?
Anyway... great forum for help Thanks

The "The fantastic lxml wrapper..." issue in OS X 10.7.1
Hi, When trying to use the Extension->Modfify Path->Perspective filter in 0.48.1 (official and any of the latest dev snapshots) i get the old "The fantastic lxml wrapper for libxml2 is required..." problem. I have tried searching all over the net for a solution for this problem. But i can'...

Pattern to object?
Hi, I'd like to convert a pattern i made and used on a large object to plain vector so i can edit the entire area. If i go "Object->Pattern->Pattern to Objects" it simply turns it back into the original pattern (the small one used to make the pattern). Is there a way to convert an object w...

Thanks ~suv for taking the time to help! I've attached both files. In which folder do you have Inkscape installed? Do all users have equally permissions to run applications from that location? I have tried it in the default Application folder, Desktop and my usual Application/Grafik folder, same res...

0.48.1 - OS X- Inkscape encountered an internal.. - SOLVED
Hello, I have a weird problem with the new 0.48.1 in OS X 10.6.6. (latest Quartz 2.6.0) 1. On my main account 0.48.1 starts/runs fine. 2. On my other account which is just for doing screen recordings (clean desktop and dock) it crash at startup with this message: Inkscape encountered an internal err...

Re: Inkscape and Professional Web & Graphic Design?
Skills are way more important than what program you use. A professional artist can most likely do stunning work in Inkscape, Illustrator, Corel Draw and other programs. Adobes program are almost considered as standard in the business but cost A LOT. Personally i find Inkscape much easier, more fun a...

Re: Converting Inkscape Design to PDF with Text Outline
Hi Lori, When saving as PDF make sure "Convert texts to paths" is selected. That way all text is converted to pure vector paths instead of text. You can also convert the text to paths inside Inkscape, this way you can edit the paths further and customize the text as you want. With text sel...

Re: How can I give an eps image a transparent background?
Files saved from Inkscape as EPS opens fine transparent in Photoshop or placed in Indesign. But Inkscape can't open any EPS In OS X you can open an EPS in Preview and save as PDF and then import into Inkscape, handy if you need to use something that comes as EPS. Today SVG and PDF are probably more ...

Sometimes illustrations can look a bit stiff/dry and benefit a lot wit...

Re: Inkscape & Encapsulated Post Script Question: ASAP!
Hi, I don't see why you can't just save it as a PDF with everything kept as vector. If you just do "File->Save As..." and choose "Portable Dokument Format (PDF)" Then in the box select " Convert text to paths " all your text will be saved as vector (non editable) and lo...

I have no explanation to what causes this, seems that that shape id and color has been mixed up at export or something. Hi franziski, I made a quick attempt at a similar button as your example, download the svg and you can check how i made it. I used the font "Sans" so if might not look the same when you open the svg if you don't have that font. This button could of course been simplified more but i tested ...
