Re: Why has the Inkscape team given up on OS X?
For the latest details, see e.g. this very recent discussion on the mailing list: http://inkscape.13.n6.nabble.com/Mac-OS-X-Mountain-Lion-x86-64-packaging-of-0-48-4-td4965851.html. Don't get too enthousiastic yet though! That's very promising :) Thanks. (It also confirms that I haven't a hope in he...

Re: Why has the Inkscape team given up on OS X?
Thanks for the help guys. I have tried a Live CD of Ubuntu. And was looking at trying a dual boot but got scared off by an EFI boot loader thingy [?] I had to install first and also cause its supposed to be quite difficult to retrieve the disk space used by the Linux partition if you want to remove ...

Re: Why has the Inkscape team given up on OS X?
The announcement is a bit confusing. It starts off promising: "…proud to announce that Inkscape 0.48.4 is out…it contains ~120 bug fixes to improve security, stability, and functionality on all platforms since 0.48.2." But further down it goes on to exclude OS X: we also need to apologize ...

Re: Why has the Inkscape team given up on OS X?
This was posted on the main page News The Inkscape Community Announces 0.48.4 Release December 22, 2012 Happy Holidays! We have a gift for everyone! After quite a while since our last announced release (sorry about that, there was a lot of confusion surrounding it, and I fully accept responsibility ...

Re: Why has the Inkscape team given up on OS X?
If you look on ... on the Inkscape home page you will see a longstanding request for Mac programmers I don't know where you see it, but I can't see anything on http://inkscape.org/ about OS X developer's in short supply :?: You might have to buy the Windows OS but the Linux will always be free.... ...

Re: Why has the Inkscape team given up on OS X?
I thought latest stable was 0.48.4 ? at http://sourceforge.net/projects/inkscape/files/inkscape/ Could be time to get stuck in helping? If only I had half a clue how to code. I didn't mean my original post to be whinging [looking back at it it might be read that way]. I've been keeping an eye on the...

Why has the Inkscape team given up on OS X?
Hi, Its over a year and 3 updates since the last OS X version was released.
Why has the Inkscape team given up on OS X?
Inkscape is one of the best Open Source apps out there. I'd really, really hate to see it leave OS X.

Re: Any chance of an RSS feed from http://inkscape.org site?
While looking around the mailing list site I stumbled across the Sourceforge hosting page for Inkscape http://sourceforge.net/projects/inkscape/files/inkscape/0.48/ and I noticed a weeny RSS feed icon for that same page http://sourceforge.net/api/file/index/project-id/93438/mtime/desc/limit/20/rss ....

Re: Any chance of an RSS feed from http://inkscape.org site?
I'm not sure what the 'developer's list' is?
Might it be the "Request Feature" option (2nd from the bottom under Community) on the left menu here http://inkscape.org/ ?
Thanks

Any chance of an RSS feed from http://inkscape.org site?
I'd love if there was an RSS feed from the Inkscape home page. Basically I just want to be informed as soon as a new stable release of Inkscape is issued. It's a bit of drag having to check on the web site (when the thought hits me).
Can anyone say what the chances of this happening are?

Re: Extensions still don't work in Snow Leopard and 0.48
If you download lxml (I used 2.2.8), unpack and cd, then run $ which python it should show /usr/bin/python Next, run $ sudo python setup.py install Everything should now work fine on Snow Leopard, which already has a native numpy. Thanks for the post, none, but that's waaay over my head. I'm relati...

Re: Extensions still don't work in Snow Leopard and 0.48
~suv, thanks for the detailed reply. It's easy for me to sit back and enjoy the benefits of great open source programs like Inkscape and quite presumptuous to some how feel hard-done-by when a bug isn't addressed in a time frame that suits me!!! It's great to have some more info on this bug and I am...

Re: Extensions still don't work in Snow Leopard and 0.48
Thanks for the reply ~suv. It seems like an awfully long time since this issue was highlighted and it looks like getting it resolved may take even longer! You don't happen to know why there is such a big delay... is it an extremely complicated issue to fix?...not enough developers to cover OS X prog...

Extensions still don't work in Snow Leopard and 0.48
The extensions still don't work in Snow Leopard. I've been waiting quite a while to have this bug fixed and I was sure Inkscape 0.48 would fix the issue. I've read some of the other posts but none seem to indicate when this bug will be fixed. I presume this bug page here: https://bugs.edge.launchpad...
