Most likely you kept the fish as a group - hence path operations not working as expected.

Re: Poor image quality when exporting as PNG
Check this page for more details.
Sicne you're creating the diagrams in Inkscape, it would be easiest and most productive if you'd export those as png's on 300dpi and than scale it down to the desired size, in mm's, in Gimp.

Re: i couldn't take it anymore
In times when the microwave or dishwasher has to update fonts, you`re complaining about the beta. And just as if that is not enough, you also could not keep it to your self but had to start a thread, about you... right. Do you do the same when you're off to the toilet as well? Do you find it to be i...

Re: How do I cut off the edge of a blurred object?
How comes Clipping does not work? Are all of these shapes on the same layer? If so, clipping should be the easiest and most efficient approach. Duplicate the rectangle (or desired final shape), place it above the group of all the other shapes and Clip or Mask it. Though, bear in mind that neither cl...

If you used Document Properties to define the page size (Ctrl+Shift+D) the just simply click on the Page tab (at the top of the Export dialog) and that`s what would be exported.

Re: (Inkscape 0.92.4) Why don't my downloaded fonts show?
The font works properly in Inkscape 48.5 and in other sw`s but does not work in 1.0. There was a change, due to recent Windows 10 updates, where folder path to the installed fonts has been changed (C\Users\... now, which previously was C\Windows\Fonts). Check this one first. The other thing which I ...

Re: GRADIENT BANDING pdf/x1a printing issues
Before you go short with your patience, do yourself a favour... Make one image with and one without that whitish overlay. After a while, take a break, and then have them both on screen. Now, ask yourself again: Does the one with it look that much better? (this is from my experience and "with it...

Re: GRADIENT BANDING pdf/x1a printing issues
You are welcome, and if I could be of any more help I`d advise moving away from jpg, jpeg and rgb of any kind at any cost while you`re trying to make this one look right on paper. Also, if you`re considering DTP (Desktop Publishing) - use either of those 2 terms for web search and - Good luck! \o/ p...

Re: GRADIENT BANDING pdf/x1a printing issues
"Q: Can I use RGB for print? A: Printed products like t-shirts, mugs, and canvas don't emit, but only reflect light. Therefore it is not possible to use the same additive RGB color system for printing. Almost every printer in the world prints uses the CMYK system – even your home or office colo...

Re: GRADIENT BANDING pdf/x1a printing issues
Colour banding, a general, happens even with some plain colours since that particular tone can not be produced as desired, on paper, in the desired conditions, materials, machines... To be clear, cmyk colours are meant for printing and having recommended tones of colour is not by chance but to (most...

Re: GRADIENT BANDING pdf/x1a printing issues
Hi! Welcome to the forum. Inkscape is a great vector tool but is somewhat estranged to printing. I`d warmly advise, especially if your interventions are as minor as you described them, to complete the preparation for print in either Acrobat or some other from Adobe palette (since you`ve mentioned th...

Glad to hear you`ve sorted things out but - How comes your status bar (bottom of the screenshot, next to Layer 1) is empty, even with the object selected?
p.s.
Have you tried Ctrl+Shift+F for custom colours?

Perhaps you should check the Elipse tool further.
The toolbar changes for each tool and provides options. Have you tried that?

As those guides indicate, the whole image is made out of circles, where only a portion of the curve is used/displayed.
Check the Elipse tool.

Re: (Inkscape 0.92.4) Why don't my downloaded fonts show?
Try AMP Font Viewer - there`s a tab for installed and not installed fonts. Don`t open IS yet, go for the later tab in AMP, go to the desired folder and choose one of the options from the bottom of the screen (View all, View only not installed...). Once the chosen preview opens, fonts should be avail...
