Re: Metallic Outline
Incredible work! It honestly looks near identical. I tried a rough version for myself using your advice with the blurred objects and base gradient. It's not quite at this level yet... but it's getting there. I really appreciate your support.

Metallic Outline
Hello, I've been trying to accomplish this effect for a while now without full success  I've tried using images as patterns as well as the gradient tools but nothing seems to work exactly how I would like. I know there is a way to do it, I just need to learn how to do it correctly :) If anyone ...

Re: Epic Text
Ahh, I see what you are saying, I would have to agree with you. I kind of want to try to replicate it, I guess it would be relatively easy if I trace over it with the line tool. But I don't think I'd be able to wrap my mind around making it with custom text xD

Epic Text
So I listen to a lot of dubstep and DnB, and there is this band called "Draper", and they have the most epic logo ever. Does anyone know what this font is and/or how to manipulate the text like so? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you :D http://i49.tinypic.com/2dvpeo.jpg

Question about exporting bitmap
Hi guys, I have a quick question here about exporting a creation I made. I need this image to be exactly 4096x2048. The reason for this is it is a "map" for a game called Hedgewars, and it only works if the PNG is a specific size. The problem I am running into is when I export it, since I ...

@ Maestral, no worries, I understand
And to both of you, thank you for the links provided and the set of instructions. Very helpful. I am definitely going to try this!
If I can, I will post the results of my attempt in this thread.
Thanks again

Alternative Cutout Style with Solid Fill
Thanks again Xav and Brynn for my first question on the "cutout filter". Upon browsing the forum though, I noticed another style I really like, that I was wondering about. It is a cutout-style filter, but it does not contain a shadow, instead it has a solid fill. I really like this, almost...

Hi nesDK! Thanks for the constructive criticism! I like most of your points, but I just wanted to show you what I used as a reference. It's a little different than the one you are showing me

So, I used the filter, and I love it! But.... There is this black bar that appears on the top. How do I get rid of that?

Engraved/ Indented Shadow Effect
Hey guys! I have another question. How can I accomplish the effect where it looks as if the text/object is engraved or indented into the background? It looks so cool and professional, I would love to try it!
Thanks!
Thanks!

Error, I can't get open inkscape
Recently, when i try to open Inkscape, it has been coming up with this error message, and I can't get in. The odd thing is that this only happens sometimes, and other times I can get in perfectly fine. Anyone know what this is?   http://i40.tinypic.com/2qvtwyb.png

Re: Trace+Fill
I apologize if I was unclear. Basically what I want to do is fill in the shape below entirely with black so you can just see the outermost outline.

Trace+Fill
Hello again. I have another question. I would like to trace an image into inkscape using the "Shift+Alt+B" method. I know how to conduct this perfectly fine, but i was wondering if there was a way to just fill the entire thing with black so you can just see the outline. Is there a way to d...
