Re: CMYk pdf
good bit of discussion about this in the posts it seems to be too a question of what you think "professional" is I have had some luck with opening my svg in scribus and using that to write the cmyk/pdf file, you don't want to have to complicated of a graphic. If you need something complica...

Re: business card aimed at automotive field
Hello, May I suggest another try at the card? When I do card layouts, I try to come up with 5 o 10 ideas and then refine the one or two best ones a few more times before settling on the one to be used. It sounds more like you are trying to clip a bitmap, rather then crop one. I think will get someth...

does your graphic have any gradients or textures or complicated things? Then the eps export will raster those as a bit map. There is s check box on the export dialog.

you can probably do that with the ellipse tool and make the half circles by editing two of the ellipses with the node edit tool.

only a suggestion for avoid the font issues by converting the text to outlines before you try and put them in another file format.

Re: Please help I cant open a file ?
maybe you could try this
open the file in notepad and save it with a different name? Could be worth a try.
Don't use any kind of word processor program, it might add a bunch of extra stuff to the file and that wont work for sure.

Re: getting height and width of inkscape objects on commandl
dunno
I would try a very simple object with a know value,1 x 1 box ? and then see if I could interpolate the units that inkscape is using
I think some question about scaling in inkscape came up a while back and I believe the internal units are in pixels?
be sure to post back what you find out

Re: Character spacing changes after importing .eps file
the file wouldn't dl for me?? probably something on my end I'll take a guess at a font issue, you might get better luck if you have the same font installed on your system that is being used in the eps file even with that, I have only had iffy luck with text being imported or even opened from svg fil...
