Re: Copy Command
There was me innocently thinking the tutorial that came with the program would actually relate to that release  I liked the Inkscape tutorial because you can play with the tools directly on the page or look to see what setting they used for a particular effect. Thank you, I have now found "...

Re: Copy Command
Just to update you, since festivities got in the way :D I loaded the localization update but so far, the preferences pane has not changed. Have tried several times but so far it is not making a difference. I will have a more detailed look later. Have spent quite a few hrs trying to sort this. I do n...

Copy Command
I used to press ctrl + C to copy then ctrl + V to paste. Since loading the latest program, the same process only produces a bit image, not a line image. Have I accidentally redefined something or is this the mode of the new program. I know I can get a line image with ctrl + D, but I find copy and pa...

Re: Hi from Decahedron5D
If anyone is interested, I am giving a talk on Blogtalk Radio on Monday, 20th Dec 2010, 10pm England, 5pm EST, http://www.blogtalkradio.com/healingfountain . The title is Manifesting Transformation and will be centred around two images I produced with Inkscape. Decahedron5D talks about the mandalas ...

Re: Path Difference Problem
Thanks for the input, that explains a few things. In the end, I resorted to duplicating the mountain mask and cropping the letters individually as it would not work as a group. I would proudly display my result but I cannot find a file extension that loads to the forum. Hey, I learnt a lot which was...

Re: Hi from Decahedron5D
You can call me Dec or 5D if you like  That's colourful Brynn !!! Thought I'd have a go at shading myself :o It has taken me longer to try and load the image to the forum than it did to shade it. I tried every file ending I could think of and none worked. I looked through the forum to see what...

Re: Path Difference Problem
Thank you so much for your reply Brynn. I have been working through the tutorial and got to the Fuji Hiking Club Logo when I had this problem. Part 6 here http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/AShortExampleLogo.html . I toggle both paths, get the message, '2 objects of types Path, Group in la...

Re: Hi from Decahedron5D
Thanks for the greeting Brynn. I have not tried the spirograph option yet, fun to come. Am looking forward to making some moving graphics too.
Loved your mandalas.

Path Difference Problem
I am having trouble getting P ath D ifference to work. I have a Mac and everything else seems to work fine. I have followed the tutorial through on the Hiking Club logo several times and, as far as I can tell, not missed anything out and have tried with other examples too. Clicking P ath D ifference...

Hi from Decahedron5D
Hi there :P I have been using an older version of Inkscape for some time in a rather primitive way, learning just what I needed to do what I wanted. I am sure sometimes I went a long way around so I have upgraded and am working through the tutorial. Some of the work I have done so far can be seen he...
