Re: Any tool for translating text inside SVG XML?
Thx :) As I said, that is always the last option... But now I have an idea - I regularly use Notepad++ which has syntax highlighting capabilities (and pretty advanced). These already contain XML code syntax, so I could ask around Notepad++ forums for a way to trim the XML syntax highlighting to just...

Re: Any tool for translating text inside SVG XML?
Unfortunately I am not proficient in programming (although you have no idea how much I would like to... no time no TIME!!!), so I can only take final solutions...

Re: Any tool for translating text inside SVG XML?
I am on WinXP.
What I have in mind is a way to either:
- display and let me edit only the text elements from an SVG file - the best possible solution
- or to highlight the text elements (not the tags around it) so that I am easily able to see and edit them - slower, but also manageable

Any tool for translating text inside SVG XML?
Hi folks, I have a project involving text inside an SVG in Inkscape, which would need to be translated (which is easier to do externally than to edit the SVG in Inkscape directly). True, I can open the XML in any editor and search for the "text" elements and go from there, but this would b...

I would like to get the tree areas looking like on this picture for instance...
This might also be a repeating pattern by glancing over the picture, but if that is true, then at least it is a well-designed one...

"Random" or randomized patterns possible?
Hi folks, I am creating geomorphic terrain maps for a tabletop wargame and am searching for a way (if it is possible) to create a random or randomized tree/forrest pattern. So far I have a forrest pattern, but as it is created as a pre-defined rectangle filled with small hand-drawn bezier curves, an...

Re: Resizing text boxes without scaling text?
Thx!
That is the reason I tried resizing it with the Text Tool and failed before, as I only a clicked and entered text (which of course then did not go) and did not make a text box first.

Resizing text boxes without scaling text?
Hi,
is it possible to resize the textbox without scaling the text in it?
I know about the "flow into frame" but that is one action more to perform (making the frame).

Re: Vectorizing to single line shapes?
Inkscape's built in tracer can't do this. But apparently Autotrace can. Give it a try . Thx microugly. Talked with Potrace author and he also suggested Autotrace. So I tried it but without a frontend for Windows I am unable to see the results I want (and adjust the parameters dynamically). Command-...

Vectorizing to single line shapes?
Hi, does Inkscape have the ability to vectorize bitmap lines to a single vector line instead to a shape enclosing the width of the original Line from both sides? I tried to play with the settings but did not find such a thing. The point is, when I vectorize a bitmap scheme (B/W top-down vehicle sche...

Re: setting the right size to drawing elements
HI Christian,
for instance you can use horizontal and vertical Guides. You can set them up precisely with mm/cm/px/... parameters and then you have to enable the "Align to Guides" in the Document Settings.
In the newest Inkscape I think you can also use rotated guides.

Re: PvP web comic looking for a vector program to ink in
HI, certainly. Inkscape can be used for such things. I am not sure how to use the Tablet with it (as I dont have one ;) but I guess some other users can report (and it is certainly there). Some intermittent way to get the work into vector is to trace the bitmap from Photoshop. I can say it gives per...
