Yes, of course. I sometimes use this workaround as well.
I just don't understand why transparency has anything to do with grabbing. I mean, I don't see this behaviour in other graphic editor. Could you reconsider this in the next version? Thanks

Re: Hard to grab hollow figures.
Hi Horus, I'm not sure how you use Inkscape. But in my experience, zooming is an integral part of both intensive and extensive use of Inkscape, especially professionally. I think most users don't think of zooming as a burden. Hi. No, I didn't say zooming is a burden in general situation. But in my ...

Hard to grab hollow figures.
Let's say we draw some figures/objects, eg circle or rectangle. Make sure either "Fill" is not used or "Fill" is used but "A" is set to 0. Now it's hard to "grab" such figures: we have to accurately click on the edge of the figures if the "stroke" is...

Re: Inkscape does not conform to "marker" in SVG spec?
Thanks for your reply. For the record, let me paste the technical reply about "should or should not display arrow" from one of the comment here: --------- As per the spec : http://www.w3.org/TR/SVG/painting..html#46;

Inkscape does not conform to "marker" in SVG spec?
Hi, There's this bug filed at Mozilla's bugzilla: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=520133 (and a seemingly related one at https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=320280 ) In summary: It's about showing (or not) marker's arrow in SVG files exported from Visio. (Please note that in Vi...

(SOLVED) "Fit page to selection" bug with imported SVG?
Hi, I'm coming back to this bug, but this time I'm using Inkscape 0.48.2 r9819. I went through the steps I had written before but this time, the result of step 7 is different: it works! :D Things are not resized nor are they deformed. And I don't even need to use PDF as an intermediate format :D Wel...

Re: Any quick start guide or step by step guide for gradient?
:o I kept on clicking those "Duplicate" and "Edit" (and "Add stop" and "Delete stop") without knowing what they are and to do exactly with them :? Well, I know what "Edit" is ... it's for changing colours, but I thought the key to success might lie w...

[solved] Any quick start guide or step by step guide for
I want to make a horizontal gradient with colour L on the left and colour R on the right. But I just don't get how to do this. I've read the doc, searched a bit the forums, but I can't find my answer. I mean, all I managed to do is having colour L on the left but transparency on the right. Is there ...

Re: "Fit page to selection" bug with imported SVG?
Eliminating the viewbox attribute does work, but you will find that you must do Edit>Select all to even find the graphic on the page because it is gonna be really small. Yeah, you're right. The graphic has become ridiculously small. I have to zoom to 1000% but I could barely see a small point! :?

Re: "Fit page to selection" bug with imported SVG?
So, do I need to post a bug? Or the problem is related to another cause?

Yes! Using PDF as an intermediary format is the solution!
I didn't know Inkscape could open PDF.

Re: "Fit page to selection" bug with imported SVG?
A workaround is to remove the viewBox attribute: open the XML editor (Shift+Ctrl+X), click on the root svg:svg element in the left pane, click on the viewBox attribute in the right pane, then click the icon at the top to delete the attribute. This doesn't work for me either. I click on the svg:svg ...

(SOLVED) "Fit page to selection" bug with imported SVG?
Before posting this as a bug report, I'd like to get confirmation from this forum first that this is indeed a bug. But if anybody wants to report the bug in my behalf, you're most welcome. I'm working under WinXP¨Pro. I had my company logo in an EPS file (ie it's a vector graph). I exported it to SV...
