Chiming in on a problem which has different cause but the same effect: It turns out my fonts disappeared in 0.91 because it won't see fonts with non-ascii names (?). I have fonts with Chinese filenames and they only appear when I uninstall→rename→reinstall... They used to all work fine under 0.48.x ...
