@prkos Thanks for showing how to remove the filters which cause change in BB size. Don't remember applying them but happened on copy-paste from another doc.

Re: More control over control points

Thanks everyone. Sorry I didn't reply sooner but my UserCP setting for "Automatically notify me of replies" was switched off. :-( [Now it's on.] Anyhow, I've been thinking of this some more and have posted my thoughts to the LaunchPad bug. In closed segments, the "outward" contro...

(preliminary trials indicate offset done this way out performs the method used in Inkscape) Hello and thanks for your detailed response. As I hav...

Preserving snapping preferences

Hello. I'm using Inkscape 0.48.3.1 on Kubuntu 12.04. I always like to have the snapping behaviour on. But unfortunately each time I open up Inkscape I'm forced to switch on the snapping behaviour. I don't seem to find a permanent setting for this in Inkscape preferences. Can anyone please help me wi...

Thanks for this link. But I think (based on this post) that there is only a UI problem and that too only with elliptic segments and not with quadratic segments. I have now submitted an official bug.

Nightlies using lib2geom available?

Hello. IIUC lib2geom is a work-in-progress. However it is not clear to me how much of Inkscape is ported to lib2geom. (I think it is mentioned that a large part of libnr being yet needs to be ported.) However I am eager to use some of the better features of lib2geom, especially the following one men...

Support for drawing and editing quadratic Bezier curves

Quadratic Bezier curves are also an integral part of the SVG specification. It would be simply great if Inkscape would help us edit quadratic Beziers. I am told that currently Inkscape can read quadratic Beziers from SVG files but it elevates them to cubic. It is not clear to me whether while this i...

Knife tool in Inkscape

I just wanted to notify here that I have already reported this request for adding a Knife tool to Inkscape. Apparently someone else had already reported it but under the name of "Razor". People interested may contribute to my newer (and hopefully more detailed) request.

More control over control points

I am a fan of mathematical precision and uniformity and would like the following feature available in Inkscape which would give me more control over the control points. When I click on a node in node editing mode, I would like to see not only the X, Y coords of the node as editable fields on the top...

Re: batch/script/automateTrace Bitmap

I think you can simply use potrace (which Inkscape uses) or autotrace (if you want centerline tracing) from the commandline. See also this bug for autotrace.

Re: Unable to copy paste from SVG generated by PDF2SVG

Wow! Thanks people for all your help! Indeed by unlinking the clones I was able to copy paste the require text! You're truly great! :)

I've since then identified the bug in Launchpad and added my comments to it.

Unable to copy paste from SVG generated by PDF2SVG

Hello. I've been using Inkscape on and off for a while. Right now I'm using Inkscape 0.48.1 on Kubuntu Natty. I am working on an important project and need to copy-paste outlines (or what is it called) from one SVG to another. However, some (all?) SVGs which I created using PDF2SVG are giving me tro...
