Piece of a rainbow
I am trying to fill a small piece of a ring with the colours of the rainbow. It should look as if a piece of a rainbow has been cut out. I just need to have six basic colours, no gradients... But I can't even imagine how I should begin to create this effect. Been trying over and over again to fix th...

Re: Swap cut out form
As I said, never mind. I first needed to check something.
In the mean time I found out what was wrong. Problem is solved. This thread can be deleted.
Thanks though!

Re: Swap cut out form
I found out this though: I turned it all into paths. I drew a rectangle around it. Then I chose "Path" > "Exclusion" And ... tadaaaa! It works! At first glance, that is. Now there is a rectangular around the entire thing that should not be there. So I tried to delete the rectangu...

Swap cut out form
So I have this rather complex shape now. I managed to combine several shapes into one monochrome shape. Hurray! But now I found that I did it the opposite way of what I really want. I'll try to explain. Basically I have combined two shapes. Let's call them "Shape M" and "Shape C"...

Re: How to text out of a shape?
Ah, thanks!
Well. It does not work, most likely because the text doesn't say "Text" but "Flowed Text". When I select both the logo and the text, it says "2 objects selected of types Group, Flowed Text in layer..."

How to text out of a shape?
So I have a shape and a text on top of it. How can I cut the text out of the shape? I need it that way, as I need it to be monochrome/transparant ànd it has to be easy to change its colour.

I'm trying to make a heraldic badge. It's a "Catherine Wheel" divided in an X shape, with the top and bottom quarters in red an the left and the right quarter in white. In heraldic terminology, called "blazoning": "per saltire gules and argent, a catherine wheel". Alas ...

[solved] Trying to cut. Does not work.
So I'm trying to fit a "vair" (an heraldic fur) to a shield. I have a "vair" that is way too large, so I want to somehow use the shield like a cookie cutter. I tried all possible ways of cutting. All 8 of them. The only one that even responded was "combine", which obvio...

Re: Cutting and filling
The line is seperate, and the entire orange field is one single field. I don't manage to turn it into two different fields. These are the effects that I generate if I try to do those things that might be the right actions. As you can see, none of them does what I want it to do. Oh, and sorry that th...

[solved] Cutting and filling
So I have this orange shape that needs to be cut in two and the left part has to be coloured red.
I can't manage to use the middle line to cut the field in two though, so I can't find the way to do this.
Any tips, please? Thanks!
