Re: Cannot change measurement unit, probably due to older version of default.svg
The temporary solution seems to work. After a lot of struggling, I managed to create a new template and it retained inches as measutement.

Cannot change measurement unit, probably due to older version of default.svg
OS: Debian 9 Inkscape version: 0.92.1 r15371 (Sorry cannot upgrade due to Debian's stability policies) When I start a new document, the measurements on the ruler are always in pixel. If I click the drop down menu on the document preference to change the measurement unit to inch or any other unit, no...

Re: Problem with printing and page size
I made some further testing and the results are weird. It does not seem to change the size but rather the alignment. I have a rectangle alligned to the border of the page where of course some part of it will not get drawn (that is intentional). But if I print directly from inkscape, for some reason,...

Problem with printing and page size
I never actually printed from inkscape before since I normally print to PDF first. I have a very simple page I need to print from inkscape. Le format of the paper is letter and landscape. I checked the measurements in the preference and they are OK. Now when I try to print, the printer does not reco...

Re: Snapping to objects or Vertex
I tried with the snapping tool bar and it works. I attached the results as an example. The hexagon are made of 6 different segments grouped together. Vertex Snapping and rotation in steps of 15 degrees make it work perfectly without the use of a grid.

Snapping to objects or Vertex
Is it possible to snap to objects or vertex of currently drawn objects. I tried to enable "Always snap to object" in the document preference, and then I tried snap together lines, square and squares converted to path and it does not work. So if there is object/vertex snapping, how is it do...

Re: Custom axonometric grid
I tried setting "always snap to object" and it does not work. I first tried with a line and I cannot snap to other vertex of the tile. I tried with a square and I also tries by converting the square into a path and it does not snap either. I tried in vertex mode editing and it does not sna...

Re: Custom axonometric grid
I made some test with the grids. In theory, if you use an angle of 15 degress for the first grid and 60 degress for the second grid, you should have all the right rangles for all the line of the patterns. The problem is the alignment of the vertex, they never match the grid. For example, if the leng...

Re: Custom axonometric grid
Also, your numbers seem wrong! the top left angle does not look like 115 degrees! This would only leave 130 for the middle two angles but they look larger. My error, it's 105 degrees Why do you want a grid? This is quite easy to do as a pattern or as a tiled clone, but are those solutions not appli...

Custom axonometric grid
Is there a way to set up the axonometric grid (or a combination of 2 grids) to be able to create a pattern of rectangular hexes like in the picture below. The top left corner of the hex has a angle of 115 degrees and all hex segment has the same size.

Re: Is there a silhouette creation tool?
Finding a human silhouette is easy, there are many dingbats and clip part with a silhouette. It's really mapping it on a many skeleton path that was the problem.
You said we can combine skeleton path together?
I could make a path for each member of the silhouette and link the paths together.

Re: Is there a silhouette creation tool?
The thing I was not sure is if it was possible to have multiple path connected together as a skeleton. Maybe you need to separate the legs and arms and make 1 path for each of them plus 1 path for the torso/head.

Is there a silhouette creation tool?
The objective: Be able to create any human silhouette position without drawing skills. I know that inkscape support skeleton path in a shape. I was wondering if it could be possible to have a silhouette with skeleton path that could pass through the arms, legs ad head. The objective is to create any...

Re: Tilled Bitmap texture create artifacts
Thank for the information, Ill try it out. "Of course this kind of filter will be included in next release." Well could this be considered as a bug? I don't see any interest to see the lines between textures. So maybe making sure it does not happen in future releases is better than simply ...

Re: Tilled Bitmap texture create artifacts
Sometimes, it does not get rid of all the lines. As you can see in the screenshot below, there are still some lines left. http://lariennalibrary.com/extern/forum/BugInkscape_Texture02.png (Picture also attached at the end) I made some test to see if when converted to PNG, the same bug occurs. In the...

Re: Tilled Bitmap texture create artifacts
I tried your filter and it seems to work most of the time on the display. I did not test printing yet. Is there a way I can permanently add your filter in the filter menu of inkscape instead of pasting style all the time. It seems to be a simple color matrix filter. Else, I need to design the filter...

Re: Tilled Bitmap texture create artifacts
If your tiled object doesn't content transparency the joined filter should remove the white lines.
There is no transparency. I don't understand what is a "Joined filter". Don't remember having a filter with that name.

I don't understand your bigger screen request! The only way to get a bigger screen is to get a bigger monitor
Yes, Big Screen = Bigger monitor.
I did not know you could save customized filters. Could be useful.
Learn all the keboard commands, and use them?
I am currently using a lot of them.

Any tips to increase productivity time with inkscape?
I like inscape a lot, but sometimes, when you want to do some quality work, it takes a lot of time to design and create stuff. (I do not say that inkscape is slower than other software). So I was thinking if there could be ways to optimize productivity to reduce the amount of time it takes to create...

Tilled Bitmap texture create artifacts
I just made some print test and the bitmap texture bug seems also to affect the printed results. If I use a bitmap as a texture, on screen and once printed, there is an edge that appears around the texture once tilled. Sometimes the artifact are only on one axis, while other times they are on both a...

Re: How do you remove embed pictures
I use method A and B. I would need to do further test to see if there is really a problem with embeding by comparing file size (if I have the time, I might do it). I simply had suspicions because derived files where larger than the original file. For patterns, they get destroyed with vacuum def, so ...

Re: How do you remove embed pictures
Vacuum def seem to have reduced my file size and some unused textures are not in the list anymore. But since I cannot see the complete list of embed picture, I cannot be certain that everything unused has been removed. But it seems to do a part of the work.

Re: How do you remove embed pictures
Extract image is useful to get back your original file if you don't have it anymore, but it does not necessarily remove the picture from the SVG.
I'll try vacuum def later and see if it works.
