I have produced a pdf originating in Inkscape. I used OCR in Acrobat. It only makes 2 boxes of text copy.
Is there a way to produce text that can be copy/ pasted from a pdf?

Object: Setting size
I'd wanted to set a rectangle to 148*105mm. Easily done. However, when my screen zoom is set to 100% the rectangle is about 20% smaller when I put a ruler against my screen. I dare say I'm doing something foolish?!!

Re: Printing to 100% scale
brynn,
That worked very well, ie. a seamless pdf after save as and correct size when adjusted to 100%.
A funny oddity, the eye lashes (alone) on all the faces stand out like they are mascarered!! But I won't ask you to explain that; amusing!

Re: Printing to 100% scale
Apologies for the confusion and yes 'scale' and 'scaling' are confusing terms in this context. Intent: I have artwork covering >1 page. I want it to appear at the same size as it would be when shown as 100% in Inkscape. The reason is obviously to assess how clear it will be to the user when printed.

Re: Printing to 100% scale
OK, I've scaled to '1.0' and saved as a pdf. It keeps it to the correct size when at 100%. However, I want to export something bigger than a single A4 page. How do I do that, again keeping the size as it is when at 100% in Inkscape.

Printing to 100% scale
I'd like an svg to print to the same size it is at 100%. What's the easiest way to achieve this either directly from Inkscape or via other applications.

OSX 10.12.6, Inkscape 0.92. File attached has line spaces between 3 paragraphs which disappeared on saving > closing > re-opening.

Eg, I type this, leave a line space
before I finish. The above line space (Enter x 2) had disappeared every time I re-opened the file.

Paragraph line spaces
I have several text boxes where I've used a blank space on a line (ie. Return then space bar keys) to make a space between 2 paragraphs. However I've just added a few more text boxes, done the same and found that the spaces have disappeared when I next open the file. I can't understand why there is ...

Re: Create table
That explains why I can't see it. However, what do I do to get the Extension into the correct folder.
I assume once there Inkscape can then access it.

Re: Create table
Thanks. My User Config is apparently: /Users/stephen/.config/inkscape
However, the "/.config/inkscape" part doesn't exist and OSX doesn't permit "." before a folder name.
So I'm still a bit stuck.

Re: Create table
I have (supposedly) installed the Extension (http://sourceforge.net/projects/inkscape-tables/) and re-launched Inkscape but can't see it within the Extensions menu. When I run the installation I get: Last login: Tue Nov 27 20:19:10 on ttys000 /Users/stephen/Downloads/inkscape-table-1.0/install ; exi...

Text: Editing slowness
When I try to edit text I find Inkscape takes a long time after 'Apply' [change] to be able to then move to the next edit. Is this a known problem?
I've checked my CPU/ memory commitments and their is loads to spare.

Re: Paste text from Word or OO Writer
Thanks both. System: OSX 10.12.6, Inkscape 0.91 now upgraded to 0.92.2 By text tool do you mean the 'A' button, then used to drag a 'text box'. I've tried pasting 6 words (I have about half a page ultimately), directly into this or by via the menu: Text > Text and font > Text tab. Using the latter, ...

I've used 'white dots' over yellow background and put a red object over part of this. However, the white dots show through even when the red is 100% opacity. Is there a way to completely overlay?

Shape fill: Use of boundary of another shape
I have numerous juxtaposed free drawn shapes that I need to colour fill. Where there is a boundary between 2 different colours, is there a way of using this boundary for both shapes? Eg. say I had 2 D-shaped shapes that had their straight edges together. Could a single straight edge serve as the bou...

Hatching: Colour, line length and thickness
I've used: Object > Objects to pattern to convert a line into hatching in an enclosed line (see attached). I've used node mode to scale and align the direction of hatching. However, I've not worked out how to change the hatching colour, line length (principally so that hatching is complete lines) an...

Inserting text
I'm finding that when I use the 'Create and edit text objects' button, sometimes it's Properties are text, but sometimes 'flowRoot'. The latter looks identical, but when I insert the svg into OO Writer, the text has disappeared (ie. completely gone, not just hidden behind another object). I'm not su...

Text and sigmoid paths fuzzy
How do I obtain 'sharp' text? It's always poor quality when I use high (600) dpi to png.
Also thick sigmoid (S-shaped) paths are a bit jagged in the same document that a straight path/line is clean; any solutions?

Re: Delete part of broken path
Found the answer: Choose the nodes either side of the break point, break apart, delete the bit you don't require.
