Re: How to use multiple gradients in one object
This is a very clever group of objects you have pieced together. Would you mind explaining it it? I just don't understand what you have done. Pointing to the manual might be enough, but I am just not able to "decipher" the objects you've used and what operations you have used.

Re: Not all fonts available in text tool
I did trace one symbol already and I am pleasantly surprised by the potrace utility. I really get some nice paths. Good suggestion of tracing a pdf in one sweep. I found some license free fonts which I have to test. It is a good thing anyhow because I can use music symbols in my application now with...

Re: Not all fonts available in text tool
Wow, thanks for all your trouble! I'll follow your suggestion and try to experiment with a font manager. The fonts are all music symbols. In the past MS did have a music font but that disappeared too. I just need good music symbols. Come to think of it, is there workaround? I am thinking about typin...

Re: Not all fonts available in text tool
I should have thought of that. I use windows 7, most recent updates, inkscape 0.48, I am missing several .ttf fonts and one .fon font, as far as I can see. Fonts I see in OpenOffice and miss in Inkscape are engraverfonts, finale, fixedsys, maestro, modern, petrucci. All of them .ttf except modern (....

Not all fonts available in text tool
When creating text not all fonts are available. Especially the symbol and music fonts. I found a remark concerning this subject but that applied to inkscape version 0.46 or lower. I use 0.48. Does anybody has a suggestion how I can load these fonts. I can find the fonts in openoffice. Regards, Arnold

Re: How to use multiple gradients in one object
@BobSongs & Druban Thank you both very much for your suggestions! It helps me to think in a more flexible way about gradients. Your solution is, alas, not the one I am looking for. I *am* looking for the effect, that's exactly what I want. But I realised that I did not make myself clear: what I ...

Re: How to use multiple gradients in one object
@BobSongs The question is pretty basic, I agree. I'll describe what I have done and what effect I try to create. I have a rectangle that runs from purple to blue. at about 1/5 and 2/5 I have inserted to points to insert white. I have the following gradients start-1st point: purple to white point 1-2...

Inkscape does not see some fonts in 0.48.1
Inkscape does not see some fonts which are visibible in OpenOffice writer (windows 7). This problem should have been resolved as of version 0.46. I do use 0.48.1 but still have the problem. Any suggestions?

Arnold

I have a rectabgle on which I want to use two gradients
