With this version I experience the same problems: not saving of PDF files.
You have installed Ghostscript?

Re: No automatic font kerning?
I am using Inkscape 0.46 under Windows XP. When I draw a text field and insert some text, there is no automatic font kerning perceivable. Is this a bug? Manual kerning does well, but is too much time-consuming. For me the answer is LaTeX, but I can't get the LaTeX plugin working in Inkscape, so I i...

Re: Getting textext to work within Inkscape on the Mac
I've never had the slightest luck in getting textext to work and I use Vista. If you have XeLaTeX you might be interested in this:

Re: Links in PDFs created by Inkscape
I don't know about linking pdfs in inkscape, but you can do this easily in Scribus, a desktop publishing application which is a free software. You can import SVG file in it, link anything and then save as pdf. Thanks for this, I'd forgotten about Scribus. Early days, but when I import an Inkscape S...

Links in PDFs created by Inkscape
Is it possible to include clickable links in a PDF created by Inkscape? Links in Inkscape SVGs work fine in Firefox, but I can't get get them to work in PDFs. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
I hope this isn't a FAQ, I've not had much luck in searching for a solution.

Experimenting with XeLaTeX
I've been experimenting with using XeLaTeX to produce nicely formatted text for importing into Inkscape and I thought I'd report on progress so far (I hope this is the right place). Inkscape has problems with fully-justified text especially in relatively narrow columns, it pads the words with spaces...

Cartography coordinate conundrum
I've been exporting maps from QGIS and working on them in Inkscape (Inkscape is good for this, because it keeps the print-scale of the original map). I think I know the answer to this, but is there in fact a way of setting the extents of the map (the coordinates of the four corners) in Inkscape? It ...
