I managed to unclip the thing by deleting the appropriate line with the XML editor, but that there must be a better way to do it.

I assume it is ok to go on with this thread? I have the same problem. I imported a file created with Maperitive. It is clipped to the page limits, with the page having arbitrary dimensions. If I change the page size to A4, not only the old clipping stays there with the old size, but the visible part...

I am working with maps. I have this set of convoluted lines I want to edit and I can't find a way to ungroup / uncombine ... whatever is needed to get to one specific line and edit it. Also, despite the large number of lines, the XLM editor gives quite a simple description for the object: height 796...
