you must use console in windows. type: "mkdir directory_you_want\.inkscape" I used this: mkdir C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\.inkscape as you see I didn't used spaces instead placed "_", because space is not allowed, you can use "" like this: mkdir "C:\Documents...

Make yourself a favour and start learning what inkscape can do in version you are using, because the new 0.46 will have what you want and much more.

In my opinion it is all the same to me, the list works when it has to be in small window, and the other one from MapFX is blown up version of list to fit the whole screen

try to give fill and stroke to the both and experiment with closed and opened paths,
if you select both nodes with and close them with "Join two selected end nodes with a path segment.", then do Path->Divide and it will give you effect you want.
