You got my attention :D. Did a project on L-systems a couple of years back and proposed some improvements for the Inkscape extension, see this topic if you're interested. I'll take a good look at the challenge tomorrow!

Re: Uninstalled Font still usable in Inkscape

Sounds like some kind of caching issue. It might help to check this page on the Inkscape wiki, or just rebuild the font cache directly (see e.g. this page ). In Inkscape, did you check whether there are different styles available for your font? The Text and Font dialog might be useful (Shift + Ctrl ...

Re: Wacom Intuos manga not detected by Wheezy

In your post you mention it does not work for either Inkscape or GIMP, so it does not seem to be an issue directly related to Inkscape. I see you also posted the question over at LinuxQuestions, that might indeed be a better place for it ;). Anyway, how is it listed in the lsusb output? Also, is the...

Re: inkscape generates no latex formula

Hi, welcome to the Inkscape Forums!

With regard to your question, can you manually open the file generated by the LaTeX extension (e.g. c:/users/soojeon/appdata/local/temp/inkscape-xzjuv3/eq.svg)? If so, does it look as expected?

Additionally, are the latex and pdflatex commands working alright?

Re: Draw a "perfect" heart shape using Parametric Curves

Nice tutorial Ragnar! However, if I would have to start from scratch with such an object, I would just use the Bézier tool to draw a rough version of either the left or right part of the heart. Then I would clone the path, flip it horizontally, and snap it to the other half. Modifying the original w...

Re: Broken PLT/HPGL lines after export

Interesting! Are you able to reproduce this behaviour using a polygon with a much lower node count? That way you could try to figure out any special properties of the nodes causing the problem (e.g. cusp nodes versus smooth nodes). You could also try to post both the SVG and the HPGL files as an att...

Re: command bar icons

Hi Brynn, these specific icons might be the default icons of the theme you use on Windows... Or perhaps these are the standard Tango icons, in that case they should be installed in a separate directory (but changing these changes them in every application that uses the Tango icons).

Hi, I don't even know how to obtain the position of an object from the terminal (could you provide us with an example :D), but the first thing I thought of was to use a regular expression to get or set the position of an object (provided that the object of interest has some unique property like a na...

Hi, have you taken a look at the Fill and Stroke toolbar? You can find it at Object → Fill and Stroke , or with the shortcut Shift + Ctrl + F . In the third tab of this toolbar, Stroke style , you can change the line width :). I'm not quite sure what you mean with the twisted line appearance though....

Re: Method to exclusively select visible objects

What version of Inkscape are you using? I'm using 0.48.4. Tried to compile the development version and use it locally (i.e. only make , no sudo make install ), but this results in some problems regarding the icons and shortcuts. Haven't had time to look into this :( A similar function is possible w...

Method to exclusively select visible objects

Hi all, Does Inkscape has an efficient way of selecting only the visible objects ? I just know about one approach — holding Alt and dragging the mouse. Every visible object touched by the selection path gets selected. However, in case of a lot of small objects, this might not be a very practical met...

Hmm, OCR for vector images... That might actually give you some advantages over OCR for raster images. I'm not quite sure how OCR works (I've only read some stuff on hidden Markov models, or the application of wavelets for character recognition), so I can't say if there are any advantages and if so,...

What exactly do you mean with "browser"? If it is something within Inkscape, you could use the Layers menu (Shift +Ctrl + L), right click on the layer you'd like to display, and choose "Show/hide other layers". Otherwise, if you're talking about Inkview, I don't think it's possib...

Re: Changing the brightness of an object

Ah, the reason why it didn't work is actually quite simple: I tested it on a path with a grey fill and a black stroke . Black is read as value 0, so it isn't affected by multiplication (K2). It is however affected by addition (K4). Note that multiplication is relative: multiplying it by a factor cha...

Changing the brightness of an object

Hi, I'm looking for a way to change the brightness of an object, preferably by a certain percentage (i.e. increasing the brightness by 40%, effectively making it 40% lighter). Changing the opacity of the object almost does the trick, but it has an obvious drawback: if there are any other objects beh...
