Re: Silhouette Cameo question
Hi! I have a silhouette cameo. The cutter has his software "silhouette studio", and basic edition doesn't support SVG files. But, you can import SVG files if you buy the "Designer Edition" of the "silhouette studio". I didn't buy this edition yet, and don't know how it...

Re: SVG image not working properly with SCAL
well, I tried the image in SCAL2 and in MTC and it wasn't working. I tried SCAL3 and it works. ?!? Matriv, What version of SCAL2 do you have? I imported your file in SCAL 2.043 and it looked correct. You might need to update your SCAL2 to the most recent version. There were a lot of changes over th...

Re: Silhouette Cameo question
I don't have a Silhouette either, but you should post your question on the Inkscape Cutting Design forum. It is for people using Inkscape with cutters and there are Silhouette users there that might be able to help you. http://www.inkscapecuttingdesign.com/index.php

Re: Warp Feature
I might be a bit late, but I thought that I would add a couple of suggestions. If you are using text on a cone shape you should use Text on Path, if you are using a vector, then Pattern along path might work well (either single stretched or repeated stretched). There is a nice cone pattern generator...

Re: Inkscape to SCAL doesn't work...
Brynn, The Cricut manufacturer sued all 3rd party software companies and you can no longer buy SCAL, MTC, or FairyCut to cut with Cricut. If you already own the software then you can continue to use it with your machine. I think Claudell is mixing up an upgrade to SCAL3 (which won't work with Cricut...

Re: Inkscape to SCAL doesn't work...
If your version is 2.0 you can go to the Craft Edge website and they will send you a link to update your SCAL to the newest version of SCAL2. The original release had some svg bugs that were fixed. Craft Edge is still providing support for SCAL2 through the end of this year. The update will be to ei...

Re: Inkscape to SCAL doesn't work...
Hi Claudell, What version of SCAL do you have? I'm guessing that you might have one of the early versions of SCAL2. If you have one that is older than 2.043 you will want to go to the Craft Edge website to request an updated version of SCAL2. http://www.craftedge.com/support/lostsw.php If you do hav...

Re: import Motorbike image/photo to inkscape???
You do need to convert the image to a Path (vector) for cutting. If there is good contrast between the subject and the background you might get away with a trace, but it's generally better to either use the Bezier tool or an existing vector. I don't use Signcut, so I can't help you with Signcut itse...

Re: Layering after Break Apart
Hi Megin, You will need to either break apart your trace or use the paint bucket tool on your digistamp. The paint bucket tool will fill in closed areas with a vector without the need to trace. One drawback of this tool is that it tends to round corners. It also tends to use more nodes than traces, ...

Re: Help I am lost!!! Cricut double cutting
It's cutting twice because Inkscape traces both sides (the thickness) of a line rather than the centerline. You will need to break apart your trace and delete the extra lines (with the traced artwork selected use Path/Break apart). A good check for what will cut is to view your file in Outline mode ...

Re: Bettere risolution with inkscape
You can either change your default dpi in the preferences (File/Inkscape preferences/Import-Export) or you can set your resolution when you export a bitmap (File/Export bitmap).

Re: Cutting on CraftRobo with DXF files
My understanding is that is pretty typical for what you are trying. Can you cut directly from Inkscape? There is a new forum for using Inkscape and cutting machines where you can get more help with this from people who use Inkscape/CraftRobo.

Re: HELP: Inkscape files don't look the same in SCAL
That looks like it is probably the issue earlier versions of SCAL2 had with Inkscape 0.47. That was fixed several releases ago. You can either update your SCAL to the current version (2.021), or you can use Path/Union in Inkscape before you import the file into SCAL. If you are using SCAL1 then you ...
