Re: How to make a window into shapes behind? (img attached)
Why I cannot add more gradient nodes?
When I move the cursor over the line connecting the center square and the small circle on the right, a large + sign appears. So I click on the line, but nothing happens! It won't add a node there.
What am I missing?

I suppose this would be masking.
I need for the white rectangle to show what's just behind it, and the rest to hide.
I hope this is the last question today.
Thanks

How easily fill a shape with lines?
diagonals in circle.PNG This one I did it manually, but I would imagine there is an easier way. Maybe in 2 main steps (?): 1. Repeating the lines with Path Effects/Interpolate Sub-paths, or just Duplicate and Distribute. 2. Making a oval Mask to cut the lines or hide the parts that don't fit in the...

Yes!
This is very good!
So far I have tried "From Clipboard". I had made a custom brush stroke like the one I showed in my post. And it's working very well.
Thank you Moini

Why my nodes won't show handles anymore?
I have already turn off Inkscape, and reopen it, to no avail. The handles show only on new paths or shapes. But those that I had already won't show them. I copied that drawing to a new file and still not working. I have also restarted the pc. Btw, I am using the "Edit Paths by Nodes" tool,...

How to replace an image?
I had initially imported a rather large image. I already carefully drew some bezier curves on a layer above that image. It just occurred to me to replace the original image with a smaller size of it. So now I have the 2nd image ready to replace the one in the Inkscape document. Is there a function/b...

[solved] How to add a knot at a specific place in the line/path?
https://sites.google.com/site/javierwebfolio/_/rsrc/1458311955202/temp/inkscape_howtoaddknot.jpg Hi all! I need to place a knot right at the intersection I marked. I know I can add knots in between knots, but in order to get the new knot at that intersection implies affecting the neighbour knots, t...

Re: My imported images arrive larger inside Inkscape
Thanks for the suggestion LU, I thought that would have done it. But it didn't
I went to the Preferences (Shift + Ctrl + P) and changed basically everything that had "90 DPI" to 72 DPI.
When importing after that the image's dimensions were still 2560

My imported images arrive larger inside Inkscape
I create a PNG file that is 2048 x 2048 in Blender, then I import it into Inkscape, but it arrives at 2560 x 2560. So far I just scale it down to its real size and move on, but I wouldn't mind changing a setting or something similar ONCE and for all.
Thanks guys,
JDL

How is an obj added to a drawing?
I'm following the well-known " INKSCAPE TUTORIAL: SEAMLESS PATTERNS ", from Syllie. At step #4, there's a line that says: "...Any object you add to the drawing is now added to this group." I don't think I know how to "add an obj to a drawing". I know how to add it to th...
