I saw somewhere the idea that system fonts and Inkscape fonts may be different.

I am attempting to paste Burmese labels on drawings and Inkscape is not finding that font.

Where do I find this info? Sorry, I can't remember where I saw it.

I'm working in Mac 10.9.5 and my keyboard shortcuts are still not working after making a file called .Xmodmap and pasting in "keycode 66 = Alt_L"

I'm not much on the terminal after years of neglect but the file opens correctly when I type "open .Xmodmap"

Thanks for responding to my not so clear problem statement.

No keyboard shortcuts work. Everything works fine from the GUI but keyboard input is completely not functional. I read somewhere this might require using the monitor to alter something but have not found that again.

I have now used inkScape enough that sixteen years of illustrator will fade to my past. (and Gimp replaces adobe very well also). very nice. I loaded inkscape .91 on mac os 10.9.5 last night and it looked okay. I couldn't paste in so I decided to wait until today and figure it out.

Today all I get is an unresponsive chocolate brown work space everything else seems ok.

Ideas where I've gone wrong?

Hello, I loaded the latest Inkscape and quartz on my mac os 10.9.5. Everything seemed to work but I could not paste using command v so I quit and waited till morning. Now when I start inkscape it has a semi brown screen and no new document to work on. Quartz is shown as running. Thanks for any ideas...
