I just tried to find the corresponding ...dbg.7z for their latest build: 20595, but no luck.
Would anyone teach me, step by step, how to use the debugger under WinXP? I have no inkscape.dbg in the build archive.

I'm still using "The Font Thing" on WinXP. You should try it on Vista to see if it is working. If yes, then you'll benefit by multiple windows and font collections as well as simultaneous display of more fonts and interactive size.

From what I see in their last build (20398), the implementation of graphical tablets is in progress. But at least on mine (Intuos 3 on WinXP) I wasn't able to configure it to use pen pressure in Inkscape. Maybe someone else knows better.

Unfortunately, I can't switch to linux and I agree with you that the developers should fix the bugs, first. But maybe implementing this is easier than fixing some nasty bugs as time as the code to see the selected file is already available. prkos, you mentioned alternatives. Can you be more specific...
